Xiao-Long Household

3rd Pov

Tai: Hey Yang, I have to go into town to pick up some things, will you be alright for an hour or two?

Yang: Yeah Dad I'll be fine, thanks.

Tai: Alright, call if you need me okay.

Yang: Will do.

When he leaves, Yang goes and sweeps the deck, and after that, she puts the dishes away and goes to check the mail, she didn't need to do any of these chores but they helped keep her mind occupied.

After she finishes however she sits in the middle of the couch to see what's on T.V.

News Ancor 1: Tonight's top story is that of a train heist that took place on a train from Vale bound for Mistral.

Curious Yang turned up the volume.

News Ancor 2: That's right Rick, Yesterday a train that departed from Vale was well on his way to the Mistral Capital.  Unfortunately, A villain in a wingsuit intercepted the train at Swallow Moutain in order to steal the cargo that the train was carrying.

News Ancor 1: The man in the suit has been identified as Adrian Tombs, a criminal in the Mistral area, well-known for stealing tech and selling them in the black market.  But what he didn't know was that the train was also carrying a very important passenger, the Spider-Man.

Yang: Y/n!?

Just hearing about Spider-Man was enough to grab Yang's attention.

News Ancor 1: Here is the only image that was captured from the event.

News Ancor 2: That's right, although unfortunately, Tombs managed to get away with the Oscorp tech, by sabotaging the train's breaks

News Ancor 2: That's right, although unfortunately, Tombs managed to get away with the Oscorp tech, by sabotaging the train's breaks.  But thanks to Spider-Man, the train managed to come to a complete stop in the city of Vanderson, and nobody was seriously hurt.

New Ancor 1: Thank you Spider-Man, Jamason can go to hell.

News Ancor 2: And in other news, the White Fang Civil war still rages on.

This made Yang smile, but then she hears a knock on the door, so she turns the T.V. off and goes to answer it.  Upon opening the door she is greeted by a delivery man.

Yang: Uh...can I help you?

The man takes a quick look at her then glances down at his clipboard.

Delivery Man: Does a Tai-Yang Xiao-Long live here?

Yang: Yes, but he is out at the moment.

Delivery Man: Oh, well can you sign for this?

Yang: Yeah I can do that.

Delivery Man: Good, sign right here.

He hands her the clipboard with a pen, Yang is clearly confused as to why a guy is having her sign for a package she never ordered but, she hesitantly signs it.  Then the man scoots a big cardboard box on the floor.

Yang: What the hell is this?

Delivery Man: I don't know, have a good day.

He then closes the door and leaves, Yang then lifts the package onto the coffee table in the T.V. room, and upon closer inspection, she notices that the thing is crudely packaged as duct tape was all over the place and the carboard looked old.  She was going through anybody who knew her dad, but she could not think of anyone who would send haphazardly duct tape a package like a ten-year-old in an old box, this just made Yang curious all the more.

Yang: I don't know if I should open this, buuuuuuuuuuuut...

She gets a scissors

Yang: Nothing ventured nothing gained.

She then opens the package and sees that it contained packing peanuts, a metallic suitcase, and an envelope addressed to her father.

Yang: *Intrigued* What the...

She opens the envelope first and finds it contains a letter written like someone trying their best to wright fancy.

Dear Mr. Xaio-Long

Hey, Tai, can I call you Tai right...I mean we're cool, right?  Sorry for the state of the package I never mailed a package before, so sorry about that.  Anyway back to the matter at hand, the arm is made from the finest tech I could get my hands on, it wasn't easy but she's worth it.  I want to assure you that it is completely safe and will function properly, I wanted to give it to Yang directly to quickly help her because I wanted her smile again, but I now realize that what she lost is noting I can understand, and I can't just give her the arm and hope that will immediately fix everything.  She needs to heal and come to terms with what happened before things can go back to normal. But I know Yang, so she will say something on the lines of this is the new normal for me now, but normal is what you make of it, she is still Yang Xiao-Long, the sexy badass who took down an Atlas Paladen, she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to, so if she wants to use the arm I know that she will make the absolute best of it, please remind her of that when she needs it.

Y/n L/n

(P.S.  Hey, Yang I know you're the curious type so if you somehow got hold of the package before your dad you are probably reading this right now, so if you are...Hi, I miss you.  Well, this also means the arm surprise was kinda spoiled, but I meant what I said normal is what you make of it. Don't let what happened, stop you from becoming what you want to be, you're still the same woman that I love and nothing will change that.  I know we will see each other again but I don't know when that will be but, I love you.)

She started crying, as tears hit the paper, this was one of the sweetest things she had ever read.

Yang: *Crying* I...I love you too, and...I'm sorry...for not saying it before you left...I love you...so much.

She just lets the emotion sink in for a while before opening the case and revealing a prosthetic arm, and she was shocked at the quality, to say the least, it was homemade but it looked like a typical Atlas top of the line arm prosthetic.

Yang: How did he make this? It looks incredible.

She contemplates for a few minutes on whether she should put it on or not when the door opens.

Tai: Hey Yang I'm back, you will no believe who I ran into...

He stops when he sees Yang looking at the arm.

Tai: Ah, so it finally came.

Yang: Heh, I take it, that you knew.

Tai: Yeah he wanted it to be a surprise, *looks at the letter* whats that.

She quickly grabs it and puts it in her pocket.

Yang: That's..uh...that's...mine.

Tai: Oh, Okay sure, anyway are you going to try it on.

Yang: Well...I am grateful he made this for me, but I'm kind of scared.

Tai: That's perfectly normal, but fear comes and goes, and I know from personal experience that it's better to face those fears sooner rather than later.

Yang: ...

Tai: Think about it, we can go at your own pace, I am sure that Y/n said something similar in that note you're holding.

Yang looked over the arm and was thinking about what he said, and Tai was right she was afraid to put on the arm, but that is not all she was afraid of.
