New York City.
Just gotta love the Big Apple.
The busy streets, Central Park, Broadway...
But there are other things that aren't so good.
Those things don't need to be named.
You hopped over a small rock and sat down on your favorite bench in Central Park. You put on your headphones and and played your favorite music playlist.
You looked around at all the happy families as you bobbed your head to the music.
The sun was shining down and spreading its warmth all across the city.
There were birds singing and the weather was absolutely beautiful.
There were lots of dogs playing fetch with their humans, older and younger couples having picnics, and there was a random hotdog stand just across from you.
Your day was going absolutely wonderful-
"Excuse me?"
-until someone just had to ruin it for you
There is always at least one bad thing in a wonderful day.
You looked down to see a small child looking up at you with the saddest puppy dog eyes you've ever seen.
"I can't find my mommy. Can you help me find her?" His big green eyes stared more intensely at you as his eyes started to tear up.
"Umm..."
"Please?"
You knew his game, but you didn't want to cause a scene with his whimpering.
Finally, you sighed, looking defeated.
"Fine. Were did you see her last?"
His eyes lit up as he dragged your gloved hand down the street.
As he dragged you, you almost ran into a large group of people.
"Hey! Watch where you're going, kid!"
"Sorry!"
The kid flashed a large mischievous grin at you.
"What's your name?" He questioned you like he was meeting a new school friend.
"Umm...(Y/N). What's yours, kid?"
"My name's Toby."
As he said his name, clouds started to cover up the glorious sun. Soon the sky was completely covered in dark, grey storm clouds.
Toby ducked into a random alleyway, just as a big, fat rain droplet splattered on your forehead.
You internally hissed upon feeling your wet head.
So much for a beautiful day.
You then looked around the alley and instantly recognized it, but you were a little too late to catch on.
"Ah, (Y/N). Just who I was looking for."
I guess you could say your life is Ok-ish.
Some days are good, and some are bad.
Today is gonna be a bit of both.
