You woke up in the air mattress Mabel had set up for you last night. Looking around, you couldn't see Mabel or Wendy anywhere.

They're probably already awake.

You sat up on the mattress and yawned. You stretched with your arms above your head. Then you stood up and walked over to the window. It's a beautiful day outside, the sun is shining down on this quiet town.

The quiet town where a whole lot of shit happens.

Reaching into your small sleepover backpack, you pulled out the plastic bag that was all too familiar. It held the money you had to save for Rocco.

It held exactly $1,354. Which means you now needed $8,646. Easy. You slipped the bag back into your backpack and got ready for the day.

"Thanks for the food guys!" You said with your belly full. "It was really good."

"I, Mabel, always make the best breakfast for my best friends." She turned to you and Wendy. "I just wish Candy and Grenda could be here this summer." She frowned.

"Hey, don't worry Mabel! You'll see them next summer." Dipper was trying to cheer her up. She smiled sadly.

"Well, I feel like taking a walk in the woods. Anyone want to come with?" You asked.

"I'll come." Bill spoke up. He had been sitting in silence this entire time, and you had begun to kind of worry. "Great! Anyone else?" You asked, once again.

"Sorry, but Mabel and I have this thing with Soos after breakfast." Dipper said.

"I've gotta help Dad around the house today." Wendy said looking unhappy. "Maybe some other time though."

"I guess it's just us." Bill spoke, looking into your (E/C) eyes.

"I guess it is." You smiled.

You two had been walking in the woods for about an hour, chatting about life and, you know, the normal stuff.

"And that's how Pine Tree got his hat." He smiled proudly at his story.

"Really? Because I'm pretty sure he told me that he bought it from the Mystery Shack." You smirked at him.

"Ok, maybe I changed a few things about the story." You laughed.

Dork.

You continued down the trail.

"Hey (Y/N)?"

"Yeah Bill?"

"Can I ask you a question you don't have to answer?" He asked you.

Oh boy.

"Um...sure." You replied.

"It's about your gloves."

"Oh."

"I was just wondering why you have to wear them." He stated. "I mean, you look and act perfectly fine without them. So, why do you need them?"

"I...um..." You didn't known what to say.

"It's ok if you don't want to tell me, I totally understand."

"No, no. I do, it's just-"

"Just what, (Y/N)?" His voice rose slightly.

"Please, Bill. It's not that I don't want to tell you, if that's why you're getting frustrated with me. It's what I could do to you. I'm trying to let you in, but after what he did, it's hard, ok?" You yelled at him, your eyes beginning to glisten with unshed tears.

"Who is 'he'? What did he do? What could you do to me? I just don't understand, (Y/N)!"

"Bill, please, I just don't want to hurt you." Tears had begun streaming down your cheeks. Bill must've realized he caused your outburst, because he looked really guilty.

"I'm so, so sorry." He opened his arms for you to hug him. When you leaned into his embrace, his arms wrapped around you in a comforting embrace. He smelt of ashes and Axe body spray. Weird combination, but nice.

"Bill?" You asked into his chest.

"Yes, (Y/N)?" A tone of guilt still in his voice.

"I want to tell you, I really do, I just...can't right now." He let you go.

"It's ok, (Y/N). I can wait."
