"Is that really the only reason? Were you trying to get away from somebody?"

Bill's words made remember your mission. After all, ten thousand dollars is not easy money to make in a few months. But another thought clawed its way to your brain. Were you trying to get away someone? Trying to run out of the awful life you've had?

No, I'm only here for one purpose.

You had just told Wendy you needed some air, and you were now wandering through the thick woods. The twigs from the nearby trees were reaching out to scratch your face.

As you walked over the fallen leaves, you stumbled across a moss-covered log. The wind whistled around you as you sat on it. The fresh smell of pine trees cleared your head.

You lifted your face to the sky, letting the warm sunlight that was shining through the trees soak on your skin. You relaxed in the tranquility.

Then a stick snapped behind you and broke you out of your calm. You sipped your head around and saw none other than Bill Cipher.

"Were you following me?" You asked, narrowing your eyes at him.

"I just came to see what you are doing, doll." A smile curled on his lips.

"And why do you care?"

"Because, (Y/N)," He stared into your clearly annoyed eyes. "People don't just show up in Gravity Falls. I don't care if they are just visiting family. The last people to come here nearly destroyed my pla...the town." He stared down at you, now inches away from you face. A memory flashed in your head. A man was holding a knife over you, about to strike.

You screamed for him to stop.

But he didn't.

You instinctively cowered back.

Bill instantly backed off.

"...(Y/N)...? You ok?" You saw Bill look at you with genuine concern in his eyes.

You suddenly felt self conscious and turned to leave.

"I'm fine."

They said those words with a voice as cold as ice. Their gloved hands were covering their arms to hide something from me.

Why can't they just reveal their secrets?

Why is that so difficult for humans?

I've had enough of their secrets.

I reached out and grabbed one of their arms. I brought it to my close inspection. Their breath quickened as I stared at all the scars scattered across their arm. Some were deeper cuts than others. None of them looked fresh, they looked like they were from years ago.

Did they do this to themself?

Now I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's unhealthy for humans.

"Fucking hell (Y/N), did you dot this?"

I looked up at them to see them glaring at me and trying to get me to let go, but my grip was strong.

They've only been here for a few days and shit's already hit the fan. "What the hell did you do?"

"You-"

They balled their gloves hands into a fist.

"You fucking idiot!"

They ran past me deeper into the woods. I could hear their feet crushing the few fallen leaves as they stepped.

"Fuck."

***

You stomped down the sidewalk in blind rage.

What does that idiot think he was doing?

Invading my personal space.

Invading my privacy.

If he had even looked a little closer? Maybe taken off my stupid gloves?

I could've fucking killed him!

What if I had-

You crashed right into a familiar redhead.

"Ow, (Y/N) you ok?" She flashed her regular "chill smirk" as you had begun to call it.

"I'm fine, Wendy."

Shit say something idiot. She's gonna ask why you were storming out of the fucking woods!

"Uh...are you headed off to work?"

Wow. Smooth.

"Yeah, Mr. Pines will be expecting me to be there soon."

"Oh ok." She has begun to walk away when you remembered something. "Wait, Wendy can I ask you something?"

"Sure, (N/N), what's up?"

"Well, I was wondering if you could help me get a job at the Mystery Shack. If it's not too much trouble!" You added quickly.

"Sure (N/N). I could get Mr. Pines to interview you or something."

You breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much, Wendy."

"Don't sweat it, (N/N)."

The bright computer screen glared into my eyes as I researched Raynaud's Syndrome. I pulled up another link.

"If you are experiencing symptoms of Raynaud's Syndrome, you should wear gloves when holding cold objects and keep yourself in a warm environment."

It's like, the middle of the summer. They're in a warm environment, so they shouldn't need to wear the gloves.

Maybe they're just a special case?

Gosh, I hope so.

We don't need any more secrets in this town.
