On the sports channel on every T.V. network on Earth, there was currently a program that was being watched more then any other program in history. It had become an obession, something that surpassed the fan base for the World Cup, and both Summer and Winter Olympic events combined.

The MESN network, also known as Magic Esper Superpower Nation, was the ultimate coverage for Supernatural Power related sporting events. Having gone on around 3 years ago after magic sports from Fiore, and other events from Academy City became even more popular.

But of course the main attraction of the network wasn't the small time events and the small time interviews.. oh no.. it was The Power Developement Festival. The all time biggest, most massive supernatural power event in both dimensions..

The event had started out as the Grand Magic Games, and the Daihaseisai. Two seperate events, one held for Wizard Guilds and the other held for the espers of Academy City and their respective schools.

But then, many espers started joining Wizard Guilds. A trend that had been started by Fairy Tail.

Espers who took the power developement curriculums at Academy City soon started to realize that their powers weren't exactly applicable to obtaining real world jobs unless it was military related. And that was where the appeal of guilds came in.

Soon Wizard Guilds were no longer just Wizard Guilds.. they were a place for both mages and espers alike, anyone who held a special power and could use the power to perform payed jobs. And the founders of the Grand Magic Games came to a realization that the rules for a magic only event was now quite unfair...

A deal with Academy City was formed. While the Daihaseisai was designed to study the mass use of esper powers all at once, an opertunity to study the mass use of magic as well was an opertunity the Board of Directors would not allow themselves to miss.

And the Power Development Festival was born. A new district, District 24, was expanded in Academy City specifically for the event. The center attraction of the new district was now the massive stadium known as The Stadium of Babel.. named after the mythical tower that was said to have connected all races through their desire to reach Heaven itself.

Right now on MESN, an interview with some of the top guild members of last year's games was taking place.

In bars and family homes around the world, even on magical lacrima tellivisions in Fiore, the interview was being watched with much anticipation.

The interview room was  large and white, looking extremely high tech with high tech looking round chairs. In the first chair sat a girl who looked around 20 wearing a red dress.

"Hello all you magic and esper lovers!" said the girl. "I'm Natalie Kreushank whose back again with another spectacular guest from last year's games! Give a good hand for Erond Malri from the guild Head Fusion that placed 2nd place!"

Erond Malri, a smug looking blonde wearing mirror shades and a black button vest with brown long pants walked out and waved. Some of those watching the interview on their home televisions shook their heads as they watched as Erond was known for being the most overly arrogant in his guild.

"So Erond, I hear that after 5 years, we have had the sudden reappearence of some of our famous old guilds from back in the day!" said Natalie excitedly. "What are you thinking about the chances for your guild now?"

"Ha! Those dinosaurs?" said Erond. "Let's face it peeps! Sure those guilds were good back in the day. Fairy Tail, Lamia Scale, Sabertooth, yeah they were a bunch of powerhouses. But they're 5 years in the dust man..! The real big boys are here Natalie. Mad Telepath's the new number 1! I know that I'm admitting that about a guild that beat my own, but it's true.. those other guilds are nothing!"
