A Railgun In Fairy Tail, The Soul Slayer Chronicles: Book 4, Gods

Number 1 and Number 3 V.S. Number 1 and Number 3

The first two tag battles, while riveting and entertaining, was nothing compared to the anticipation for the final battle of the day.. finally Fairy Tail, the former strongest guild was going to face the current strongest, Mad Telepath..

The tag battles, unlike the previous events, had already announced the matchups before any of the matches started.. and it was common knowledge by the excited crowd, that the last match was to be Railgun and Accelerator V.S. Luster Touch and Siesmic Shaker.  The former 1st and 3rd strongest espers against the current.. and though Accelerator wasn't a Dragon Slayer, the excitement of how Mikoto, Fairy Tail's strongest Dragon Slayer would fare against the Diamond and Stone Dragons of Mad Telepath was held in much anticipation.

MESN was in an uproar on the television during those 30 crucial minutes before the fated fight.

Commentators were running stats all over the place. Some were arguing that Accelerator's Vector manipulation would blow away the competition while others argued that Rhode's ability could bypass the laws of physics and therefore leave Accelerator completely defenseless.

Throughout the entire break, there was no end to the talk about Diamond Wings V.S. Lightning Wings.

Down in sports bars across the world, people were breaking into fist fights over whether a Railgun attack could pierce a Diamond Shield. Or whether Vector manipulation could break an enhanced Stone Fist.

But at the moment, all Mikoto could think about was just how much of a combination of nervous and determined she was...

She stood within the round hall gate, the gate that led out to the stadium.. only 5 minutes to go.. only 5 more minutes..

Next to her stood Accelerator who remained silent.

"So.." said Mikoto. "We're fighting together huh? When's the last time we actually did that?"

"The war.." said Accelerator. "Heh.. gotta say though.. nice to do it again.."

Mikoto nodded. "Yeah.."

"Yo.." said a voice. Natsu, Happy, Elli and Touma had all come down to the entrance.

"Hey guys..come to wish us luck?" said Mikoto.

"For an unlucky guy like me to wish luck, well that might be kind of a jinxing coming from me." said Touma. "But yeah.. I'm gonna risk it anyways.."

"We'll all be watching." said Natsu. "Go kick their butts to high heaven."

"Yeah!" said Elli. "Then we can get icecream afterwords..

"Aye!" said Happy. "And fish!!"

Suddenly the horn rang out, signalling that all the fighters must make their way out into the stadium. Accelerator and Mikoto looked at each other and nodded.. they began to walk out to the stadium..

"HEY!! Guys!"

Accelerator and Mikoto turned back to see all of their friends standing there, their hands held high, making a standard L gesture.. a symbolic gesture meaning that they would always be watching.

"Heh.." Accelerator said with a grin. "Don't think you're gonna make me cry.."

"Come on.. they know better then that." said Mikoto with a smile. And with that they walked onto the field..

Their entrance this time, was accompanied by a lot of smoke and fireworks, obviously they had been the main event everyone was looking forward to.

"AND HERE THEY ARE!!" Chapati shouted. "The ones you've been waiting for!! They dissapeared for 5 years but now they're back for the possibility of reclaiming the titles of Academy City's strongest Espers!! The Railgun, Mikoto Misaka and Accelerator!!! This is a never before seen teamup folks!! And it's sure to be riveting!!!"
