I'm closing the diary and I look to the window, I stand up to open it and I see the red bird right outside of it. Maybe it's a sign; maybe I'm doing the right thing now.

- Let's go. – My mother says opening the door, coming in without knocking.

- Where? – I ask nervously.

- I said let's go. – She says firmly, waiting for me at the door.

I try to move as fast as I can, leaving the diary inside a drawer. I can see how she looks at it carefully, like if somehow she knew I was hiding something.

We get into the car and she starts driving faster than normal.

- Can you tell me where we're going now? – I ask gently.

She's silent.

I know this is not good.

We finally stop and when I look outside my window I see Emmanuel's house.

- What are we doing here? –

- Do you think we are stupid enough to trust you? Do you think you can play us like that? I read every single day your stupid diary; I know you've been seeing him. You... BROKE THE CONTRACT! – The yelling at the end makes me jump. I can't believe I was dumb enough to think they weren't keeping an eye on me.

- Okay, what do you want me to do know? –

- I know your little friend is hiding from you from a while now, isn't he? Maybe he doesn't love you anymore and honestly I would understand him, who would want this piece of crap? NOBODY. – She yells again and I'm trying my best not to cry.

She gets off the car and opens my door; it's a signal for me to get down to.

We don't say a word.

She knocks on the door and Mary opens it slowly.

- You. – My mother says, like if they knew each other. When I look at Mary I confirm they do, or did.

- What do you need Lucy? – She asks firmly, like when you talk back to a bully.

- Mss. Peterson for you, dear. – She gives a step closer and then continues, - we have come to see Emmanuel.

- He's not here. – She replies fast, faster than expected. She doesn't look nor sound nervous, in fact she looks angry and I've never seen Mary angry before, she's always caring a sweet and warm smile on her face.

I am petrified of what could happen, I feel like a traitor coming to Emmanuel's house after ditching him for money and I know Mary is not saying anything but I can feel her hate, maybe towards me or maybe because mom is here but either way I really want to get out of here.

- Well, tell your.... Boss that we are going to be back tomorrow and that I would really want to have a word with him.-

She pulls my hand and suddenly I feel like a puppet.

We go back to the car and Mary doesn't even blink, she's staring at me not showing any emotion but in her eyes I can see compassion and I'm scared of what's to come.

- You're going to regret lying to us silly girl. You are stupid just like you were in the Immortals World. – She says that while she drives and I immediately look at her shook.

- How did you...? – She doesn't even let me finish the question when she says the answer.

- Because I lived there too. – She looks at me with hate and I can't understand what could she possibly be doing at the Immortals World.
