~~Jungwoo~~
The television continued to play random episodes of shows that jungwoo didn't know the name to. He looked around the room to gain his bearings and realized that he was still laying on the couch, a light blanket thrown over his body. He lifted himself off the cushion and rubbed his cheek to bring back the blood circulation. He could feel the couch's pattern imprinted in his skin.
The memories from the previous night began to return to Jungwoo. He remembered the conversation with Lucas, and how they eventually sat on the couch together and watched whatever was playing on the tv. He remembered laying against Lucas's shoulder and nothing else. He had fallen asleep against his boyfriend.
Jungwoo sat up and started to look around the room that was lit only by the scarce sunlight that filtered through the curtains. He couldn't hear any movement or voices. The apartment was empty of company. Even Lucas was gone. Heat filled Jungwoo's cheeks. He reached for his phone to see if Lucas had tried to contact him. He was afraid that even after his attempts at calming Lucas' emotions, that he still decided to leave. When Jungwoo flipped his phone screen over, he saw nothing but his wallpaper. No notifications covered the screen.
The tiredness that was left behind Jungwoo's eyes was washed away when he entered the password to his phone and found Lucas' contact. He began to type.
Hey, sorry I fell asleep.
Jungwoo pushed the send button and waited for the message to go through. It didn't take long for Lucas to answer back.
Took you long enough to wake up. I thought you said that you liked mornings.
Jungwoo peered over the back of the couch and looked at the clock being displayed above the stove. It read just past eleven thirty which felt extremely late since jungwoo was used to waking up around nine, even on weekends.
Sorry, I was so tired.
That's what I figured. I didn't want to wake you up so I just gave you the blanket and left.
Jungwoo took in a breath when Lucas explained himself. He was afraid last night would be the last time that they ever talked. With his mind at rest, Jungwoo placed his phone back on the table. He left from the couch and headed for the bathroom to shower from staying on the couch for so long. He stood, motionless, under the hot water and let himself relax for the first time in what felt like an eternity. Lately, he had been extremely busy with work and the extra stress of his love life that resulted before confronting Lucas hadn't helped.
Jungwoo hesitantly turned off the shower. He couldn't stay in there for too long, or he would run out of hot water and have to pay extra on next month's rent. He reached for his clothes on the sink and forced his jeans and long sleeved shirt over his still damp skin, which wasn't an easy task. After successfully getting dressed, he headed to the kitchen and grabbed his phone on the way to check for any unread messages. A single text from Lucas appeared.
Thanks for last night, I love you.
