Chapter 3.5

3rd Person's PoV:

Maki sighed mentally for the umpteenth time as she recalled how her senpai waved at her casually.

It was just after a week after their little encounter that she saw him on the second floor by the window.

She would occasionally give the raven glances whenever she's free from physical excercises.

But the situation seemed different today just because he waved at her.

Maki shook her head, not wanting any more of these troublesome thoughts.

She will just go in circles if she kept thinking of it.

The bell rang, indicating the end of the school day. She looked at her watch and saw that there was still time for her to try this school's piano.

So she packed up her things and went to the music room.

Meanwhile...

"Yazawa, you up for arcade?"

He held up his hand, waving it as if to reject his offer. "Nah, not in the mood. I'll go with you next time, sorry." He kept all of his things unhurriedly, carrying his bag like a sling bag after.

Nico had yawned again as he covered his mouth. "Today is so tiring.."

He then passed by the music room, which was releasing a faint melody-- no, to be precise, someone was wonderfully playing the piano.

The door was slightly ajar, so he took a peek inside, only to see Maki.

"Eh? Isn't she kouhai-chan?" He thought to himself as he continued listening to the music she was producing.

Maki didn't seem to notice anyone at all so she continued playing.

Her hair was breezing at her back, because the wind of the unnoticed open window gave her that effect.

She seemed more beautiful at that.

But in reality, some of her hair strands were covering her face so she decided to stop playing and fixed her hair.

Actually, Nico was leaning in too much on the door that he fell when she stopped, making Maki look at the raven, who was face flat on the floor.

"Y-you..." Even after calming her emotions by playing the piano, all the bothersome thoughts she had went back to her as she saw him again.

"Oops." He quickly stood up, dusting himself then claps at her performance. It helped his tiredness go away.

"So you play the piano, uh... kouhai-chan.." He rests his arms on the piano, his hands supporting his chin.

"...I'm leaving." Maki sighed, not wanting to deal with him.

(You mean cuz' you don't want him to know that you're feeling hot and bothered---//slapped)

"Wait..! Maki!"

But before she could even leave, Nico called her by her first name, because that's the only name he knows about her.

This action made her stop and turn into a blushing mess.

"H-huh?" Her voice cracked when she turned to look at him.

She didn't know why but him calling her without honorifics make her felt like there were butterflies inside her stomach.
