・゚: *・゚:* *:・゚*:・゚ "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU? If we die in the Avatar State, any Avatar after us will cease to exist." I groan while rubbing my temples, trying to ease an oncoming headache. Aang stutters before asking more questions.

"Well, what if only one of us dies in the Avatar State?"

I finally turn my body to him. Between the hippies who guided us through a tunnel to reach Omashu and Aang's burning questions, I'm about to explode.

"I told you. I don't know."

He slumps his shoulders, "your father couldn't have been a little more specific?"

"He had somewhere to be." I plainly answer while Sokka and Katara lead us to the gates of Omashu.

We share knowing glances as Sokka begins a dramatic introduction for the beautiful city.

"Lady's and gentlemen, I present to you the great city of Omashu—" he stops when he sees the great city in shambles and the Fire Nation insignia sitting atop of the gates.

"Oh no."

My feet come to a sudden halt. I take in the view, the horrible view.

"I can't believe it... I always thought Omashu was... untouchable." Aang breathes. The emotion in his voice shines clear, he's upset.

"Up until now, it was. Now Ba-Sing-Se is the only great Earth Kingdom stronghold left."

My eyes take in the fallen city. It was once so capable and strong, now it's under the Fire Nations command and control.

"This is horrible. But we have to move on." Katara urges.

"No. I'm going to find Bumi." Aang decides. There's no changing his mind.

Aang begins to march down the road, "Aang, wait! We don't even know if Bumi is still..."

The boy snaps, "What? If he's still what?"

"Around..." Sokka dances around the idea of Bumi being gone. I shake my head, "No. I agree with Aang. We should help him."

"I know you two had your heart set on Bumi, but we can find another earth bending teacher that will be just as good." Katara tries to talk us out of our, I'll admit, stupid plans to rescue a friend.

"This isn't about finding a teacher. This is about finding my friend."

Aang leads us behind the city to a secret way inside. My jaw gently falls agape.

"Has this been here the entire time?"
