Kyungsoo

Friday was the day before the big party and I was finally feeling that sense of nervous excitement some people get before their first dates.

"You guys ready to get your party on tomorrow?" Tao said excitedly as he walked up to us in the hall.

"Absolutely," Luhan said, high-fiving him. I laughed and shut my locker, pulling my bag over both of my shoulders.

"Are you excited D.O?" he asked me. I smiled, trying to hide my inner excitement.

"Yeah, a little," I said. I could feel their eyes on me and they could tell I was holding back. "Okay, I'm actually pretty excited."

"Knew it! You can't hide anything from us," Luhan said, pointing at me and making me chuckle. Just then, Xiumin walked up to us, and Luhan suddenly straightened out. "Hi Minnie!" he said as he waved.

"Really, Luhan? You still call me that?" he said, earning a nod from Luhan. He just chuckled, stopping in front of us. "You're going to the party tomorrow night, right?"

"Yep, just for you," he said, batting his eyelashes at him and smiling.

"Good," Xiumin replied with another laugh. "It's an open party, so you guys should come too. I know it would make Sehun feel better to see a lot of people show up."

"Oh, they are," Luhan said for us. "Everyone except Chanyeol cause he's a stick in the mud."

"Cool. Well then I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow," he said with a friendly smile. "See ya, Lu." Luhan waved and with that, he was off. Luhan turned back around to face us, his flushed pure red.

"What?" he said, embarrassed but rolling his eyes. "I hate when you guys look at me like that." We laughed at him and then Chanyeol showed up a few minutes later.

"Hey Yeollie," I said. He smiled and put his arm around me, hugging me briefly.

"You'll be at my house at 7:30 sharp, right? The party starts at 8," Tao asked him.

"You'll be ready by 7:30 sharp, right?" Chanyeol imitated his voice.

"Yes," he replied, unimpressed.

"Okay then. I will be, too."

"I'm so excited I can barely wait," he exclaimed. I waited for a sly comment from Chanyeol, but he restrained, but I could see the comment floating in his head, so I laughed. The bell rang and then we all headed back to class for the rest of the afternoon.

The next day seemed to pass slowly. I literally paced around my house, finding random things to do or clean to pass the hours until the party. I started getting ready a little early so I could be ready on time. Finally, 7:30 came around and I was already at Tao's house when we heard the horn of Chanyeol's car beep. We all ran outside and got in, Tao and Luhan taking the backseat while I sat in the front.

"Put the pedal to the metal Chanyeol!" Tao said loudly and excitedly. He turned around and glared at him briefly before putting the car in drive. It only took ten minutes to get to Sehun's house and he put the car in park across the street. Sehun's house was bigger than I thought it would be, but I'm sure he was so well-off that he thought differently.

"I'll be back at exactly 10:00, so you three better be too," Chanyeol said, a certain sternness in his voice.

"Alright, alright. We will," Luhan said impatiently as he and Tao exited the car.

"D.O," he said, putting a gentle yet sudden grip on my wrist. "Watch the time." I nodded my head in response. "And...be careful." There was a specific look in his eyes, but I couldn't describe it, so I just smiled warmly.

"I will, Chanyeol," I said, taking his hand in mine. "Don't worry about me. I can hold my own against the peer pressure." He cracked a smile as he nodded his head slowly. "I'll see you in a few hours, okay?"

"Okay," he said, a hesitant sound in his voice. I rubbed his hand before letting go and following quickly after Luhan and Tao. The door was wide open, so we all walked in. Music was playing loudly and there were already quite a lot of people there.

"No you can't go upstairs. Do you want his parents to kill him?" an unfamiliar voice said from behind the door. The person who was behind the voice smiled at us when he saw us, stepping out from behind the door. "Hi, I'm Jongin, but I go by Kai," he said. "You're Luhan, right?"

"Yeah, how'd you know?" Luhan responded.

"Xiumin talks about you sometimes," he said, causing him to blush a little.

"Oh, these are my friends Tao and Kyungsoo, but we call him D.O," he said.

"It's nice to meet you," he said, a friendly tone in his voice. I smiled shyly while Tao replied excitedly.

"Hey, Lu, good to see you here," Xiumin said, coming up to us. "Come on in. The party's just starting." He pulled us in and we followed him to where the crowd of people was. "Drink up," he said as handed us all a red plastic cup. The only alcohol I had up until that point was half a glass of champagne at my brother's wedding that my dad let me sneak in when my mom wasn't paying attention. Luhan and Tao didn't seem the least bit hesitant and automatically took a drink. "Come on, D.O. It's fine. It's not like you'll get caught," Xiumin said. I looked at him with widened eyes.

I heard Chanyeol's voice in the back of my mind, telling me to be careful. But I cracked under the pressure and followed through. The first sip was the worst. Whatever I had just tasted had a bitter taste to it that made my taste buds tingle in disgust.

But the next ones weren't so bad, and I found that adjusted rather quickly. Then one drink turned into two, then two turned into three. Before I knew it, I felt like a completely different person than the one who had walked through the door.

So much for being able to hold my own against peer pressure.
