Kai

I waited until after graduation to confront my parents. At this point, I had abandoned all hope of changing their minds. If they were willing to keep me in the dark for so long, they didn't deserve the effort I was putting in.

I had a strong feeling that they would say something like, "It was for your own good." I wasn't going to accept any of that this time, though. I was free now anyway, so I didn't have to. I didn't need them or their approval anymore.

I had moved back home shortly after graduation, but no one knew yet. I needed to finish the business I had with my parents before I could. I needed to know they were out of the picture and most importantly, out of the way. I walked down the stairs and into the living room where they were watching television. I dropped the envelope on the coffee table in front of them. They looked down at it while I kept my eyes on the carpeted ground.

"Why?" I said. I finally looked up them, tears slowly starting to fill my eyes. "Why would you keep something like this from me?"

"We were going to tell you," she said. "Just when the time was right."

"When the fuck would that be, mom? When I'm already brainwashed or when I had a wife and kids?" I yelled.

"Jongin, don't speak to your mother like that," my dad said in a stern voice, moving up to a sitting position. I took a deep breath in an attempt to calm myself down a little. "Now, you know exactly why we hid this from you."

"Yeah, I do," I said silently. "You know, all my life, I've tried to live up to this image you have of a perfect Christian son. All those youth group meetings and summer camps I went to even though I would have rather died, that was all to please you." I paused for a second before continuing. "So, why is it that now that I've found someone that makes me happy I can't be with him? Huh? Why is it so hard for you let me be happy?"

"It's a sin," he said. "It's not normal what you feel towards him."

"Your definition of normal isn't everyone else's," I said. "I don't know what a good parent is supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure it's not one who doesn't let their child be happy." He sighed heavily without taking his eyes off of me. "I'm in love with Kyungsoo and no amount of therapy or religious brainwashing can change that. So I'm done. I'm done trying to please you and I'm done breaking promises and I'm done lying. I'm sorry I couldn't be perfect, but just know it's not my fault. If you can't see past your stupid beliefs and love me for who I am, then that's your problem, not mine. So, until you're willing to change, please don't contact me."

With that, I headed back up to my bedroom. I hadn't even bothered unpacking my things, knowing that I would be gone again soon enough.

Kyungsoo

"Soo, hurry up! We have to be there by 8:30!" Chanyeol shouted from downstairs.

"Okay, okay," I said back. "I'm almost done." I gave my hair one last glance before grabbing the rest of my stuff and going downstairs.

"Finally," Chanyeol said once I reached the last few steps. "I was about to leave without you."

"You couldn't do that even if you tried," I said, stopping in front of him. He smiled and looked down as he chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Can we just go? I would like to send high school off with one last illegal drinking party." I chuckled again and then we both went out the door.

When we got to Sehun's house, most of them were already out in the backyard, so we joined them, Xiumin immediately handing us drinks.

"Finally, we're done!" Chanyeol exclaimed after he swallowed the shot he took.

"Cheers to that!" Xiumin said, downing his shot next. "I'm so glad high school is over."

"Yeah, but now there's the real world," Luhan said. "We actually have to do something with our lives."

"Please don't remind me," he replied, holding a hand up.

"Let's not think about that right now," Chanyeol said, pouring himself and everyone else another shot. "Let's just celebrate the fact that we are officially adults and that Sehun's parents are disgustingly rich and like to travel a lot." We all laughed.

"Cheers!" We clinked our glasses and each took a drink, our faces scrunching up.

After about an hour, we decided to exchange graduation gifts.

"Okay, Yeollie, open yours," I said, shoving the medium-sized box in front of him.

"What is it?" he said, shaking the box up to his ear.

"Something I know you'll love," I said with a smile. He smiled at me and then began to tear off the paper.

"No way," he gasped as he saw what was inside. "This is the best present ever." He pulled out a set of new guitar picks and some more stickers to put on his case.

"I figured you could use some new ones for Juilliard," I said. He chuckled, rolling his eyes as he admired them some more.

"I still can't believe you got in," Chen said.

"Neither can I," he replied. "I'm pretty sure I sent my application like five minutes before it was due."

"Well, I can," Baekhyun spoke up, giving Chanyeol's arm a little rub. "He's a musical genius and they just knew that if they accepted both of us, their reputation would get exponentially better."

Chanyeol laughed. "I seriously love them, Soo. Thank you," he said, hugging me briefly.

"Now where's my present?" I asked impatiently, clapping my hands together a little.

"Oh right, let just check to see if it's here," he said as he stood up from the chair he was sitting in.

"What does that mean?" I asked in bewilderment. I turned to the others and they just shrugged obliviously, but I could tell they knew something I didn't.

"You'll see," he said. "Stay right there." I did and then he came back a few seconds later, wearing an excited smile. "Come on, it's here."

"What did you get me?" I asked as he practically dragged me to the front of the house. "Did you get me a car?"

"No, it's not a car. It's better than a car. Way better. So much better that you'll owe me for the rest of your life for it," he said as he open the front door.

"It really that awesome?" I asked, now getting more and more anxious to see what it was.

"Well, you'll have to see for yourself," he said, pointing ahead of him.

What I saw next made my heart stop and my eyes instantly fill with tears.
