Afaan's POV
I hadn't seen Afrah since the day she left, and I was a bundle of nerves. Anisa's clingy attitude was only making things worse.

I stepped out of the bathroom, my mind still racing when I saw Bullz's name flashing on my phone.

I totally forgot he was coming with the two Ms.

I picked up the call, trying to sound casual. "Hello."

"'Ango Ka sha Mai! Look at how you're answering the call reluctantly."

"Dude, just state what you have in mind and drop the call. Banda lokacin ka!" I shot back, trying to keep my irritation in check.

"Chill, Man , Did I tell your wife not to give you breakfast this morning, Mr. Grumpy?"

"Mahmud...., I swear"

"Anyhow I called to remind you of our visit, and don't even think about arguing about it. I called Afrah, and she said she's totally cool with it."

"You spoke to Afrah?" I asked, my heart racing.

"What?" Mahmud inquired, sounding genuinely confused.

"I said alright, it's fine. But, stop calling my wife. She said she doesn't like it," I lied, hoping to sound convincing.

"You're such a motherfucker," he laughed heartily.

"Let's just go to the club and remember the old days before we head back to your house."

"Okay, yes, whatever dude," I replied, ending the call.

Bullz had actually spoken to Afrah while I was here bombarding her inbox with more than a thousand messages without a single reply.

Afrah's POV
"Zara, please let's go to Smart Kids. I'm bored!" I pleaded, my impatience creeping in.

"I'm not driving, and I'm not paying," she retorted, folding her arms defiantly.

"Ji wanan!" I hissed, "Who said you were going to pay? Just get your ass up and get ready!"

"Fine," she replied, finally smiling and getting up.

"Zara, what did you tell Ummi about me staying in this house?"

"I told her that Ya Afaan went on one of his business trips and you're too scared to sleep alone," she teased.

"You freak!" I laughed, following her with my slippers to Zuhra and Zulaikha's room.

"You guys are such kids," Zuhra laughed, clearly used to our antics. We finally settled on the idea of going to the ice cream palace. I still wasn't on talking terms with Furry, she always seemed to try to outshine me. I couldn't help but wonder if she had or has a crush on Afaan.

I slipped into a simple blue afternoon dress, paired it with beige heels and a matching purse, then proceeded to bake my face with makeup.
