"Are you sure we should be doing this? It feels a little wrong..." His voice was husky, his breath smelled of a little ale but it was not something you were unused to. Looking into those eyes, you felt a connection that you hadn't known you were even capable of. Your mouth was a bit dry, your voice more than flirty.

"Why not...? It may be wrong..." He licked his lips, before smiling sweetly to you.

"Well then, who am I to refuse a lady?" You chuckled for a moment as his words were processed. The man opened the door for you, letting you go in first.

"Doubtful that I'm a lady in this instance." Your voice was a little deep, catching a hitch when you thought about the times you actually were a lady, in a grand dress with maids to do your hair and guys trying to court you. Dreadful guys trying to court you. "We are about to go into a prison and interrogate a man."

"You're a lady to me." His insistence tickled your stomach just a bit. "We are also interrogating a man who is with a group trying to hurt one of the Mare's barmaids. Your taking care of Whiterun, at your own expense."

You looked to him with a brow raised. "My own expense?"

He adjusted himself on the way down the stairs. "Yeah, well, think about it. You could be off with the greybreads learning a skill that makes you special. Yet your here risking your own life for someone you've spoken to a handful of times."

"I might have been with them already had someone not told me they needed me." You looked to him in the torch lit staircase just before hitting the landing. He gave a soft shrug and a playful smile as if to say that's the way it goes.

"Isn't that funny. I could have sworn I wasn't the only one who said the word need." You shrugged playfully while looking at him. "Excuse me." He grabbed a guards attention.

"What are you doing dow-" He paused, looking you both over. His eyes widened a bit. "T.. Thane!" The man straightened himself up, then noticed Vilkas. "And a companion? What can I... I mean we. What can we do for you?" You watched slightly amused. The Jarl named you a Thane, only in the sense that you continued to do things for the city. You were sure the citizens went to him and requested you be one, not that after killing a dragon for him the jarl didn't think so himself.

Vilkas looked to you. "Well, this is why I asked if you were famous when you came in. Tends to unlock doors."

"While you're not wrong... I think I have proven you don't need to be famous to gain some. I'm only known around here though, so... I guess your dream of a famous companion is still far off. I don't really plan on leaving soon either. I have a lot to protect here." You looked to the guard. "Thank you for the warm welcome. We heard you have a redguard locked up. I just need to speak with him for a while. "

"He's right over there." The guard pointed. "Locked him up for disturbing people." You nodded a thank you before walking to the cell. Looking in your brow rose, the man looked normal, which is what you'd want a bounty Hunter to look like. Clearing your throat the man looked up. "Hi." He scoffed. Your nerves were already being played. "so I've been asked to help your cause..."

"Not my cause anymore." He replied, hoarse. "I got caught here, so they left me. No reason for me to be loyal to them." You nodded before Vilkas walked behind you, just standing there.

"Good. Then I won't have to lie. I found her, she's a citizen of Whiterun now and I won't just give her up. I need to find them." Vilkas smiled standing behind you, his eyes on the man.

"Look, I'll tell you everything you wanna know if you pay my bail out of here. I have no chance otherwise."

"How do we know you won't go after her?" Vilkas narrowed his eyes.
