Louis woke up smiling, staring at the ceiling, wondering if Harry was looking down on him now. Louis reached up to touch his lips. He couldn't feel his fingers, though, only the sensation of Harry's lips on his own.
That really happened, didn't it? Louis asked himself.
"Boo?" A voice groaned, heavy with sleep. Louis turned. Zayn was laying next to him, a confused expression on his face. Louis' smiled widened.
"Morning, Zayn!" He chirped. Zayn was surprised at his sudden pirky attitude after being so tired and silent the night before.
"Someone's happy." Zayn smiled back, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He sat up. "Did you have a good dream?"
"Yeah." Louis said, looking up at Zayn. He thought about that kiss, wondering if Harry- wherever he was- was thinking about it too.
"Good." Zayn said, placing his hands on the sheets. "After all those nightmares, that's great. What did you dream about?"
Louis blushed, looking away.
"Did you dream about Harry?" Zayn asked. He didn't feel jealous. If he were in Louis' position he'd dream about his former lover all the time.
Louis nodded, his smile faint now, a deep blush on his cheeks. Zayn chuckled.
"I'm glad you had a good dream." Zayn leaned in and kissed his cheek softly. "I'm, eh, I'm taking you on a date later."
Louis thought back to his dream. Harry had told him Zayn was taking him on date today. Louis wondered how Harry had known.
"Really?" Louis smiled. He was honesty excited, and he didn't think he would be. "Where are we going?"
"It's a surprise." Zayn said. He got up, only in his boxers, and pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans and a blue t-shirt. "What time is it, babe?"
Louis turned to the small, round table next to his- their bed, looking at the digital clock. "Ten."
"Oh, we're gonna be late for our interview." Zayn said. "We have an interview today. Do you think you can go without a shower today?"
"Yeah, I took one last night." Louis said. He got up and slipped out of his sweatpants, tossing them in the hamper. He pulled on a pair of red pants, a red and white striped top, and a pair of white suspenders.
"Come on." Zayn said. He took Louis' hand and led him outside. Niall and Liam were already in the kitchen, fully dressed and grabbing granola bars for breakfast.
"Ready?" Liam asked, handing Louis a granola bar as Niall handed Zayn one.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Louis muttered. "Do you think they'll start talking about H-Harry again?"
It was the first time Louis' said Harry's name since the accident, and the boys tried not to act surprised.
"Management isn't going to let them." Liam put a hand on Louis' shoulder. "We'll have your back if they do."
Louis was happy the boys were there for him. He wasn't sure what he would do without them, especially Zayn.
He decides, as Zayn tangles their fingers together and they get in the back seat of the car waiting for them, that he wouldn't even be alive. That or he'd still be talking to Harry through a journal.
-
"A theme park?" Louis asked as he steps out of the car, looking up at the carnival in front of him. "I didn't even know it was in town!"
"Now you do," Zayn chuckled, slipping a hoodie around Louis' shoulders. It was a bit chilly, and it was already dark out, which made the light cold a bit worse. Neither boy minded as they went on a few rides together, screaming on the fast ones, and holding hands on the slow ones.
It was the first time Louis' had fun since the accident.
-
Louis lay his head on Zayn's chest, loving the feel of the dark-haired boy's warm arms around his body after being in the cold for three hours.
"Goodnight, Louis." Zayn said, placing a kiss on the top of Louis' head. "I love you."
"Love you too, Zayn," Louis muttered as he began to drift off. "Goodnight."
