The trees, the birds, the sky,
Slowly, do they die,
While you and I,
With our blinded eyes,
Sail in a ship in the frozen oceans,
Hopelessly seeking,
(The fools that we are)
Those more human than humankind
The trees, the birds, the sky,
Silently, will they witness,
You and I,
Our unsung duets,
Our hibernating desires,
Forbidden affections that plague the human mind.
While we waited for the stars to call our names,
You and I,
We watched the scarlet snow fall.
If I could go back in time, I would,
Shower you with white lies,
Sentence you to sleepless nights;
While you,
Struggle to scratch my limbs,
Slaughter sandcastles of spring,
Guiltless eyes,
Will strip you naked.
And you, in your delirious fantasies,
Will be haunted by your guilt,
As they echo though the crevices,
Of your heart of stone.
And, in that midnight mockery,
You will realize,
That there is no truth,
Only labyrinths of lies,
With no way out,
For you and your endless lust,
Exiled the keeper of the truth.
