Chapter 12 - Speaking in code is way easier then it seems

Driving Elena back to her house was actually quite nice we were having a good conversation. Well by defining good I mean talking about Stefan without arguing.

"So Stefan's been compelled and he doesn't even know it?" Elena asked still slightly confused because it really didn't make any sense anyway.

I nodded. "Yes, and the reason he doesn't know is because Klaus compelled him to forget. So basically he thinks that he is better but he really is still the ripper and he probably has blackouts when he you know, gets all vampy and kills people."

Elena made a horrified sound and I frowned. "Sorry I didn't mean to be that blunt but it's just the way I am and the way the situation is."

Elena swallowed loudly and said softly "It's fine, I just have to get used to your bluntness. And this situation does require that."

I grinned and cheered. "Yay! You actually get it! I'm starting to like you even more! This is great progress."

Elena laughed and then said "I see why Damon loves you now."

I choked on well air. "What?" 

"As a friend I mean." She said quickly.

I raised an eyebrow and she said "Oh! Look there's my house I'm going to go now! I'll call you later so you can teach me how to lie to Stefan without feeling bad." And with that she rushed out of the still kind of moving car.

I rolled my eyes and muttered "Humans." 

As I started to make my way down the street to get to the shop Katherine was at when my phone started ringing. 

I grabbed it and answered it without looking. "Hello? This better be good because I'm driving." 

"Evelyn the same old feisty woman I see." I heard a man laugh at the other end.

"Um who is this?" I asked confused.

"Dear, it's Elijah." Elijah said flatly.

"Elijah!!! I've missed you!! You've been daggered for what? 4-5 months?" I shouted.

He chuckled and said "My dear Evelyn, I do not know how long it has been but I did get your note and I will help you kill Niklaus."

I grinned and said "Great! Look can we meet up at the grill at say 7 tonight? I have to do a couple of things and I know you have to find a place to stay."

"Okay. I'm making Niklaus think that I am on his side so I know exactly what he is doing so I'm staying with him. But I do need to get settled in so I will meet you at 7pm tonight." He said cheerfully.

I chuckled then said "Bye." and hung up.

I picked Katherine up and helped her with all of the bags of clothes, which half of them are mine as Katherine so gladly told me. We drove to the boarding house in silence since she was texting on her phone and since she had a smirk on her face I do not even want to know who it was.

As soon as we got to the boarding house I took half of the bags again inside where Stefan was sitting on the couch looking like regular broody Stefan but I knew he wasn't so I just fake smiled at him and moved as a blur to get to my room, well Damon's room so I could put down my stuff. As soon as I got into the room I saw Damon coming out of the shower with nothing but a towel on. I immediately averted my eyes from him and began putting my stuff away that Katherine had bought since we were the same size.

As soon as I got to the bag with the lingerie I could feel Damon staring at me. But it might have been my ass because I was bending down and I know that I have a nice ass so who could blame him. I turned around and saw Damon sitting on the edge of the bed with his ankles crossed and still in a towel with his signature smirk on his face. He look the definition of sex and relaxed. 

So, I did what any normal vampire girl would do. I smirked right back at him and then said with a red lace bra in my hand or more specifically the one I told Katherine not to get "What do you think of this new bra Damon?"

He swallowed and still tried to look a ease and said with an even bigger smirk "I won't know until you try it on."

I rolled my eyes and laughed. "In your dreams Damon!" 

He huffed and then said "Whatever."

I chuckled and put away all of the lingerie and saw that Damon had finally put on some clothes. Which is a good thing because if he didn't I might have jumped him and I know that he does not feel that way about me.

"So Stefan's downstairs with Katherine?" Damon asked as I sat on the bed next to him with his clothes on and me taking my shoes off.

I nodded and said "Yep. He's down there reading a book."

Damon nodded and made sure not to say anything that might tip Stefan off that we knew. But then again he wouldn't know what we were talking about anyway, but it was good to be safe.

"So I'm going out tonight at 7 and I don't want you to be lonely so why don't you take Stefan, Elena, and Katherine out to dinner out of town for a change. I think they deserve it." I said pointing to my ears.

He nodded catching my drift that Stefan could not know yet about Elijah and that I was meeting him. "Yeah I might as well since you're ditching me. I'll call Elena."  

I grinned and said "Okay good. I'm going to put on some different clothes and shower and stuff so you can either stay and talk to me while I shower without looking or you could go downstairs and make sure that Stefan doesn't kill Katherine." 

Damon actually looked like he was contemplating on it so I pushed him out the door and locked it behind him because I actually did need him to watch Stefan. Things were going to be very difficult from now on because we have an intruder that we all love.
