Chapter 16- Watching the Gilbert House

By the time that Elena and I arrived at her house I realized that I should probably stay there to make sure her and Jeremy are safe, so I texted Damon saying that I would see him in the morning because I was going to stay with Jeremy and Elena to make sure that they were safe all night. Let's just say Damon was not very happy when he texted me back so I promised him that as soon as I saw him I would make it up to him in a very convincing way, and that shut him up so he was happy and I was happy. 

As Elena and I walked into her house we saw that Jeremy and Matt were still playing video games and it was already 2am. I chuckled at them while Elena frowned at them. So to save them from a lecture I said to Elena "Why don't you go take a nice hot shower and go to bed and I'll watch the house and make sure Jeremy and Matt finish with the video games soon." 

Elena nodded then went up the stairs with a depressing manner. I sighed then walked over to the couch where Matt and Jeremy were and said "Okay guys, I know you're not 5 but I need you guys to get off the game and go to bed. Or in your case Matt go home, Elena had a really long night and I will explain it all to you in the morning. Oh and if you don't want to go home or to bed then we can watch a movie I guess." 

Jeremy and Matt both nodded then Jeremy said "Why don't we just watch a movie that way you won't fall asleep or get bored while watching the house." And before I could lie and say he was wrong he added "Evelyn you wouldn't be here otherwise so don't even try lying." 

I scowled at him and growled "Fine. But just because you said that we are watching something of my choice." 

Matt laughed and said "We all know you don't really like girly movies unless they're funny. You're kind of easy to figure out in that manner." 

I rolled my eyes and demanded "Jeremy just pick a movie. Oh and grab me some bourbon or scotch to drink."

Jeremy chuckled and disappeared into the kitchen but was back without alcohol since he couldn't find it. I sat down on the couch and said to Matt "Do you think we should call Caroline and Bonnie so we can all be with Elena right now?"

Matt nodded and said "We probably should do that." 

I nodded and called both Caroline and Bonnie and filled them in so that we could try to cheer Elena up a little bit. As soon as Bonnie and Caroline got to the house Bonnie pulled me into the kitchen with a murderous expression on her face.

"How could you let Stefan do this to her?" She yelled at me.

I sighed and said "Bonnie, I didn't know he was going to go after Elena. Okay? Nobody could have known." 

"Evelyn of course he would go after Elena he loves her!" She yelled getting in my face. 

"Alright look that is the exact reason that I thought that he wouldn't go after her! So Bonnie you really can't blame this on me I didn't know he was compelled until after we did the spell. If I had known before that then I wouldn't have even suggested using a spell to make him better." I stated calmly.

"But why would you knowing he was compelled make you not suggest the spell?" Bonnie asked confused.

"I wouldn't have suggested it because compulsion from a original vampire is much more strong and you can't break it with a weak spell." I announced.

She raised her eyebrows at me and said "Okay I get that. But that spell was hardcore Ev. It should have broke through the compulsion." 

"See that's the shitty thing about original vampire compulsion, only the vampire who did it can take it off. So witchcraft and starving him of blood wouldn't work." I said with an annoyed scowl.
