When I walked into the boarding house I went directly upstairs and changed into a pair of short pajama shorts and a camisole. Then I walked back down stairs with a book called City of Glass, By Cassandra Clare. I had just started reading the mortal instrument series and they were epic! So anyway I laid on the couch and started reading in the parlor when I felt like somebody or something was watching me so I kept calm and got off of the couch slowly and started going to the place where I kept the emergency stakes.
I was about to get to the fireplace where they were when Stefan stepped out of the shadows. I sighed in relief and said "Hey! I thought you were someone trying to kill me. My bad!"
Stefan smiled slightly then said "You're not going to ask me why I'm back early and no one else is with me?"
I froze and said "What? Why would I ask you that? You live here Stefan."
I started to slowly inch towards the fireplace when he said "Well I know that but your not at all suspicious about why I'm here so early?"
I smiled and said innocently "Why would I be suspicious of you Stefan? Have you done something to lose my trust?"
"Well no. But I think you have done something that has made me lose my trust in you." Stefan said with a humorless laugh.
I raised an eyebrow and held in my victory dance when I got to the fireplace and grabbed a stake without him noticing. "What have I done Stef?"
"You let out three originals Ev." He all but snarled.
"How would I do that Stefan? I couldn't have let them out because I would die when I pulled out the dagger." I said while smirking.
He narrowed his eyes and said "Then you must have compelled a human to do it for you."
I rolled my eyes and said "Stefan why are you asking me these things? Why do you care?! We have one upped Klaus!"
"I don't care but I think that you should have told me that you were doing this." He said a little confused himself.
I put the stake down behind me quickly and used my vampire speed to get to Stefan. I put my hands on his face and I looked into his eyes and said softly "Stefan think hard! Why would you care if this got us ahead of Klaus!?"
He blinked and said slowly. "I don't know Ev. Is something wrong with me?"
I shook my head no with tears in my eyes. "We'll figure it out Stef. I think that you were compelled by Klaus." I let the ball drop on him because I couldn't take it anymore it hadn't even been 2 days and I couldn't stand lying to him. He's like a brother to me.
"Why would you say that Evelyn?" Stefan said clearly thinking that I'm crazy.
That was when Damon, Elena, and Katherine decided to get home. I hurried over to the couch and tried to wipe away my tears. Stefan was still in shock so he was still standing where I was just a minute before.
Damon walked in and said "Hey Ev! You're back early, everything okay?"
I smiled slightly and said "Yeah everything is fine."
Damon knows me better then anyone so he knew that I had been crying without even looking at me. "Have you been crying Ev?" He said as he came to sit by me.
I shook my head no. But with one look at Stefan, Damon knew that I had told him that I thought he had been compelled even thought I knew he was. Damon wrapped his arm around my shoulder and said "Okay what happened in here?"
I looked at Stefan and before I could say anything he said "I have to go."
I got up and grabbed his arm and said "No. You aren't going anywhere. At least not right now."
