chaeyoung felt his lips kiss her forehead.

jimin pulled away, staring at chae, whos face was tomato red.

"thank you, chaeyoung. you're right, i should be a better father for minji, and for mina."

chaeyoung nodded slowly and turned away from him. she didn't understand why she expected him to kiss her on the lips. she touched her warm cheeks, slightly embarrassed at herself.

she heard jimin chuckle from behind. "you wanted me to kiss you on the lips, right?"

she quickly turned around, shocked. "tsk, n-no i didn't." chaeyoung held her head down, trying not to show her blushing cheeks.

"aish chaeyoung, dont worry. every girl that sees me feels the same way too," he teased, ruffling her hair. chae was quick to slap his hand away.

"shut the fuck up," she retorted. "now go talk to minji, and explain to her."

jimin laughed before heading towards the young girl's room, peeking through the door checking if she was fast asleep.

fortunately she was awake, playing with her toys. jimin smiled ear to ear, looking at his cute daughter innocently acting as if the toys were real.

jimin took a deep breath before entering the room. thanks to chaeyoung, jimin realized how much minji's gummy smile brought him happiness and how he should cherish her.

"minji-ah?"

the young girl looked up at her father, her mouth slightly open. "y-yes.. appa?"

jimin sat down on the floor beside her, and picked up one of the stuffed animals. "appa wants to say sorry."

minji stayed silent, still playing with her toys.

jimin nervously fiddled with the stuffed animal. "im sorry that i said those harsh things to mommy, i didnt mean it."

minji stopped playing with her toys, paying attention to what jimin would say next.

"but, appa really cares about mommy and you," he said in a soft sweet tome. "the both of you mean the world to me. although me and mommy are not together, i still care very much about her."

jimin caressed his daughter's cheeks. "do you forgive appa?"

minji nodded her head, embracing him into a hug. jimin chuckled as he rubbed her back. "thank you, my sweet little one."

minji pulled away, a bright warm smile on her face. "im gonna go see unnie now, i have to tell her the good news," she exclaimed as she hopped out the room, making jimin chuckle softly.

as soon as she left, jimin leaned back against the wall. he knew he had one more person to apologize to.

dialing the phone, he waited for her to answer.

ringg, ringg, ringg

on the fourth ring, she finally answered.

"..."

mina didn't say anything, making jimin nervous.

"minari, you there?" he asked hesitantly.

"y-yeah..." she finally replied in a soft whisper.

"oh... i just want to say something to you," jimin started off, taking a deep breath.

"i loved you. what i said earlier wasn't true, i only said it out of frustration. but i mean it when i say i loved you."

he took another breath before continuing.

"but i dont think my feelings would go back the way it was, i-im sorry. but i care about you, and that will never change."

jimin nervously waited for her answer.

"i-i understand," mina finally said, it was obvious that she was holding back tears. "chim?"

"yes, minari?"

"im.. proud that i got to love you once."

jimin was silent, not knowing how to respond while sobbing was heard on the other line.

"thank you," mina said between sobs. "take care of our daughter okay?"

jimin gulped, holding back his own tears.

"of course i will."
