I run as fast as I can trying not to draw attention to myself. As I'm running the words 'gotta find Ms Small' play on repeat in my head. My breathing begins to get heavy, and my visions begins to blur, my un-fit body is starting to fail me but with all the information and secrets we had just found I push on. As I am turning a corner my lack of vision causes me to crash into Amy.
"Oww....... watch where you're going!"
"I'm sorry....... Do you know where Ms Small is?" I reply completely out of breath.
"Well, that's why you don't run in the hallways." She replies, "And don't think I'm not going to report this to Mr Petire."
"Oh my god, look around Amy, does this look like Crestwood to you." My heart is beating out of my chest then I realised that I was only wasting time on her. I walked off wanting to run but my lungs wouldn't allow me to, and neither would Amy.
"Excuse me!? You do not walk away from me." Amy attempts to stop me, but I continue walking, trying my best to ignore her but she doesn't give up and continues to follow me.
"Hey.... Stop.... Where are you going?" I continue to ignore her.
I must have walked past 3 buildings with Amy still following me when suddenly, a loud siren begins to sound, coming from section 3. We stop outside the toilet block.
"What's going on?" Amy ask.
Students start coming out of buildings with guards telling them to head back to section 1.
"What the hell is going on?" Tianna and Candice walk out of the toilet scared and confused.
"Probably a fire or something, this is a lab after all." Amy leaves and follows the other students being evacuated. Tianna and Candice decides to follow the other students too.
My mind immediately goes to the boys. What could have happened? I bolt and begin running back to section 3 as fast as I can. What did they do? I hope they are okay; did they get caught? All these questions running through my head as my heart races with fear and anxiety. I finally reach the bins where we had previously hid and see both boys being escorted by a guard, but it doesn't look like they are in trouble, could they have started the alarm?
"Hey, what are you doing?" One of the guards catch me by surprise.
"I'm sorry, I heard the alarm and didn't know what to do." I lie hoping that she doesn't suspect anything.
"Come on, it's probably a false alarm but we should go to the emergency point in section 1. This way." She ushers me towards section 1.
The closer we got to the orientation room the louder I could hear all the students talking over each other. Typical school fire drill if you ask me. I instantly begin scanning the room to find Justin or Wilkey, I head to the back of the crowd where our school was and run into Mr Petrie.
"Sir, have you seen Wilkey? Wilkey Evans or Justin Osborn?" I ask.
"Yeah, everyone is here but you, are you okay?" I ignore him and rush to the back to continue looking for them.
As I am searching, I feel a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey, I wasn't done with you before, I mean did you really think you could just walk away from me and get away with it?" Of all the people I needed to see, Amy wasn't one of them.
"Amy I can't do this right now." Annoyed, I walk away. Amy attempts to grab me but bumps into Tianna instead.
"Watch it, snitch." Tianna's hostility towards Amy is as deadly as ever.
"Don't blame me I was trying to grab her."
"What? Don't bring me into this." I defend myself.
"She's right, no point being all bark and no bite rep." Tianna surprisingly backs me up.
"Okay you know what, as far as I'm concerned, you're both in trouble."
"Yeah?" Tianna's hostility rises.
How did I get caught up in the middle of this? I turn to walk away.
"Wolf! You ok?" Wilkey suddenly appears out of nowhere with Justin beside him.
"Your name is 'Wolf'?" Candice intervenes.
"You guys what the hell happened?" I ignore Candice.
"We don't know, the alarm went off just as we were finishing tiding up." Justin explains.
"Yeah, we got out as fast as we could after we heard the alarm." Wilkey backs their claim.
"Did you get caught? I saw you with one of the guards." I asked
"No. We got out just in time and acted like we were lost, the guard found us and told us to follow him the orientation room, so we did."
