After paying for my groceries, Luke guides me to his car. I put my stuff in the back, and sit in the passengers seat. I pull my hair back out of my eyes and I look out the window.
"You know I don't know where you live."
"I live on Forest Avenue, 8th house on the left."
"That's kinda far," he said looking at me. "Why did you go to this supermarket?"
"Watch the road Lucas." I said smirking. "I walk from my house to the supermarket. I like it better to walk."
"Are you one of those people who walk to save the environment?" he groaned.
"No, I also don't have a car." I laughed. Luke nodded his head, turning right.
After about 5 minutes of awkward coughs, he finally gets to my house. my dad is home, great. I groan quietly, as I get out of the passenger's seat and I grab my groceries.
Once I got all of them, I close the door, and I got to the drivers side.
"Thanks Luke." I said to him smiling slightly.
"Anytime Cody." He smiled, rolling up the window and diving away. I sigh as I go to my front door, to be greeted my dad with a bottle in his hand and the tv blasting the evening news.
I put the groceries on the table, and I go up to my room, closing the door. I lay on my bed with my phone in my hand. i look up at my bare ceiling thinking about nothing.
"Cody!" my dad yelled. I sighed going to the living room, seeing my dad's now empty bottle in his hand. He's drunk. Great. "You're worthless!" he confessed. He does this everytime he's drunk.
I continue to listen to dad's hurtful words about me, until I heard the one that set me over. "you should've left with your mom." I run upstairs and I grab clothes, my charger and headphones, and put it in my backpack. I write a quick note to my dad before climbing out my window.
