Alex's POV:
after homeroom I waited outside for Oliver "took you long enough" I remarked as he walked up to me.
"So after you go to Gym, Math and Science meet me right here" he said pointing to closed double doors leading to the back of the school if I remember correctly.
"why here" I questioned
"don't question it. go with it." he simply walked away.
Gym class was annoying. all the girls in my class were slaughter - able, thank god if I get enough credits I can get a second elective instead.
Math was just as bad we jumped right into the books.
science was exciting to me, it interested me but all we did was safety forms.
once it was time I cautiously waited by the doors as Oliver said. The bell rang and I waited, and waited.
"Alex!" he yell whispered approaching me "be less noticeable! he slurred, he creaked open the double doors - "you see those guys out there? those are yard watch like in grammar school, they make sure kids don't skip class. don't let them see you" he grabbed my arm as we quietly walked along the building
"OLIVER WAIT" I whisper screamed
"I've never done this, what are we supposed to do? how am I supposed to-
he cut me off "do what I do." I sternly said "and don't be loud. okay ready"
"wait what no!" I panicked
" 3-2-1 .......... GO!" he grabbed my hand again and started to run across the field into a forest "c'mon Alex keep up" he joked
the adrenalin kicked in and I felt everything bad go away for 5 seconds of my life I felt peace, running into a forest breaking one of the biggest rules at school and not giving a shit. it was great.
once we got in the forest he smirked.
we started to rest for a few seconds and then he pointed at the tree with a spray painted smiley on it "this way" we walked following a maze of trees with this symbol.
"what the hell is happening am I joining a cult?" I joked
"no you're just getting some friends, so kind of" he remarked back
we both laughed coming upon a circle of people 2 of which I knew, 3 that I did not know.
we were welcomed with multiple greetings at once. Oliver sat down joining the circle whilst Matthew motioned for me I come sit by him.
"Alex meet Charlotte, Elena and Gabe. Losers meet Alex" I awkwardly waved hello and they started to speak
"so homecoming is soon, how great." Charlotte rolled her eyes at the idea "this and senior ball, just more ways to make girls that don't get dates feel like shit, that, is exactly why I'm going" everyone broke into a flood of laughter
Senior Ball?- I questioned
"yeah it's like prom but all the girls wear long dresses instead or short dresses, everyone tries to look mature, the guys try to get laid, all the cliques unite and it's seniors only." Daniel explained
"I don't even have to try with getting laid" Gabe smirked
"Shit! Gabe you're arrogance is showing!" Charlotte laughed
"plus with all those STD's I don't think girls really want to try" Daniel glared
"oh shut up! we got new meat here, she doesn't have to know all that" he ran his eyes up and down my body winking and smirking at me. I could feel him undressing me with his eyes and I wanted to scream.
"I don't think you will lay a hand on her" Oliver said glancing up from his lap. This shut Gabe up in a heart beat
this was surprising to me, I mean my first day I already made friends and had been hit on and defended. although I missed my old friends more than anything. they were there when I needed them most and then it all got taken away.
Don't get me wrong it's just a hour or so drive but it's still longer than just walking down the street or taking the transit to see them in 5 minutes. We agreed when I'm 18 Luna, Quinn, Salem, Melanie and I would move in together. and I can't wait.
