Chapter 20

Taehyung's POV

I was on my way home with Taegguk holding my hand.

We had just went for groceries.

It was already late evening. (don't ask why)

And it was awfully dark at this moment.

The calm breeze caressed my cheek as I held onto my son's hand.

On our way home, we passed by a dark alley.

Of course, I didn't went in there.

Like, who did?

Well...

Clank!

The sound of a kicked can could be heard from the alley after we passed by.

Strange...

Maybe it's just a stray cat.

Then, I felt a tug on my hand.

"M-Mom...I'm scared..." Taegguk said.

I let out a soft smile and patted on his head.

"It's alright, mom's here," I said.

And he smiled back.

But this wonderful moment just had to be ruined by the most eerie feeling we had.

Like...

Someone...

Was watching us....

"Errrr, Taegguk. I think we should go now," I ushered him and we continued our way back home.

But, the heavy thud of footsteps were heard.

I quickly fasten our pace, dragging Taegguk with me.

The footsteps seem to have fasten too.

Shit!

"M-Mom...who's that??" Taegguk asked, scared of what he had seen.

"Sweetie, just keep going. Don't look back," I said.

Then, the footsteps turned into a running pace.

Without thinking twice, I quickly swiped my seven year old child up into my arms and ran.

I didn't even bother that my groceries had fallen onto the ground.

I ran and ran with my child in my arms.

"M-Mom!! Faster!!! He's chasing after us!!!" Taegguk exclaimed in a scared tone.

I gave out all my strength to run even though my legs were already starting to kill me.

"Mom!! He's right behind us!!!" Taegguk yelled. And he wouldn't lie about a thing...

As I was about to say something, I felt a sharp pain in my right leg and immediately, I collapsed onto the ground.

I wrapped my arms around Taegguk especially his head so he wouldn't get hurt.

I quickly let go of him and told him to run.

"No!! I'm not leaving you here!!" Taegguk exclaimed as tears threatened to fall.

I could hear the footsteps getting louder.

"Go!! Find your father!! Find your uncles!!! They'll know what to do!!" I said.

"But..."

"Just go!!!" I exclaimed.

I watched as my son ran to the other side of the road.

And slowly, darkness engulfed me...
