Chapter 7: A new side

Narrator's POV

It had been more than a week since Jimin befriended Jungkook and since Jungkook has had a proper social interaction with anyone. And from that day, Jimin has noticed great progress. He realised that as days went by, Jungkook became more comfortable around him, especially when they were both studying together or doing their project at his house. Jungkook didn't wear his glasses at home anymore when Jimin was around - that was because Jungkook realised that he was more confident at home since it was his house. He only wore it when he went out, when he was surrounded by other people. Jimin also noticed how Jungkook was a natural tease. He loved to tease Jimin - and Jimin also realised how he also had a lot of unheard and unspoken opinions just like every other normal person. This fascinated Jimin - his opinions - as he discovered new sides to Jungkook everyday.

Jungkook woke up as per usual, and he washed up before heading out - ready for a new day of school. He hadn't realised how different he perceived the world after befriending Jimin, but he did know he felt more happy knowing he had someone beside him. Of course he didn't want to give himself false hope in case it crashed and burned if Jimin suddenly left. But whenever he thought of that, deep inside he was certain that Jimin would never do that. He didn't know why he had soo much trust in this boy when he didn't even know him that well, but he knew Jimin was a good person. Jungkook had not realised how Jimin made him feel at peace and safe, as well as that he hadn't had a major anxiety attack for 3 days. None of this was on his mind as he was just happy that he had discovered a friend.

When Jungkook arrived at school, there were a few glances at him before they resumed back to their friends. Jungkook didn't need to see as he could feel it. He had a feeling it was because people started realising that Jimin was hanging out with someone other than his normal friends. Whenever Jimin or Jungkook hung out, they were either at the library or the rooftop. No one was present at the rooftop, and there were only some passers-by in the library so majority of the school had no idea that Jimin and Jungkook were friends. Students in their literature class assumed they were just partners and Jimin was being the nice person he was and took the nobody - Jungkook - as a partner. Jungkook didn't really mind. He thought maybe it was good for others not to know because then Jimin's reputation wouldn't be at risk and he wouldn't be under the spotlight due to the other people being curious as they became jealous.

Jungkook ignored everyone like he usually did, and entered the classroom. He was glad he didn't see Jimin this early because that meant he was sleeping - and he managed to get some sleep at least.

Jungkook arrived super early, so the classroom was very tranquil and quiet. He realised he completely forgot about the project Mr Lee told him about. To be honest, he was still deciding what the theme would be. He still had a lot of time, which was why he didn't start anything. He just continued drawing his normal stuff - but deep in his mind he was thinking about what the theme was going to be.

Jungkook managed to finish one of his drawings he started 2 days ago. Satisfied, he was ready to send it to his mum. Suddenly, he heard the noise of the door open and he instantly looked in that direction. Jimin walked in, and when he made eye contact with Jungkook, he gave him a very energetic wave and Jungkook gave him a small smile.

"Morning Kookie!"

"Morning hyung."

"Did you sleep well?" Jungkook quietly asked.

"Yeah, my dad wasn't at home due to a business trip so there was no arguing," he smiled at Jungkook.

"That's good then," Jungkook said before looking back at his untouched chemistry textbook.
