Chapter 21: Shaken to the core

Narrator's POV

When Jungkook woke up from the sound of his alarm, he got up and did the usual and grabbed a granola bar before he left his house.

He was glad to finally listen to music as he couldn't yesterday because of everything. He lost himself in the music as he walked to school with a small smile on his face.

When he arrived at the gates, he walked in and saw the backs of his dear friends. He halted in his steps. Although he knew they wouldn't say anything, he couldn't help but feel nervous. Okay Jungkook. Just breathe. They're your friends who treasure you. Believe in them.

Before he could take a step, the others noticed him. All of a sudden, Taehyung charged at him and squeezed the life out of him, making his nerves disappear.

"Tae, let the child breathe," Jin scolded him.

Taehyung instantly let go.

"Haha sorry," he sheepishly smiled.

Jungkook smiled before wrapping his arms around Taehyung.

"It's okay," he told him.

Taehyung grinned as he hugged Jungkook back.

"Hey! Where's my hug?" Hoseok chimed in.

Jungkook released Taehyung and quickly went to Hoseok and hugged him like a little child. Hoseok laughed as Jungkook was rocking side by side.

"I missed you Kookie," Hoseok said.

After Jungkook hugged all of them, even Yoongi, everyone started bombarding him with questions.

"Hyung's! I'm fine. Don't worry. This maknae isn't that weak," he puffed his chest out.

They all chuckled at Jungkook's antics and nodded.

"You sure are."

When the bell rang, Jungkook quickly shuffled to his classroom. This was the first time that he didn't go to the classroom early, but he couldn't help but see everyone first.

When he sat in his seat like everyone else, without knowing, his eyes darted to the back of a pink haired boy. Not once did Jimin turn his head to see Jungkook. He started feeling down because of that but what he didn't know was how the pink haired boy resisted the urge to see Jungkook. Jimin clutched the hem of his jumper and told himself that he could do it.

When it was break time, he met up with the others and Jimin was also there. When he made eye contact with Jungkook, he quickly looked away. Before it could get to him, Jungkook cleared his throat and acted normal. No one saw what happened.

Jimin cursed at himself for looking at the younger as Jungkook on the other hand, bit his lip from nervousness.

When it was his math class, he happily walked in and was met with a happy Mr Lee. Although he wanted to run up to his hyung and say thank you, he sat down as the other students entered. Throughout the whole lesson, Mr Lee tried to not accidently say anything, but he couldn't help but have a stupid smile plastered onto his face.

When the lesson was finally over, Jungkook rushed to him when everyone left.

"Hyung!" Jungkook shouted when Mr Lee gave him a bone-crushing hug.

"Jungkook!"

After he let go, he looked at Jungkook deeply in his eyes.

"You okay?"
