Chapter 6

(With Kai)
Kai shut his journal as he signed his name at the end and got up from the ground. He walked back to the front of the sign, practically crushing the gun on his hidden belt.

All you have to do is shoot them. Not in the heart of course, only somewhere that they wouldn't die in.

He repeated the phrase in his head over and over again before building up the courage and bracing himself for what was about to happen.

He felt the cold breeze flow over him as he gripped the handle and pushed open the door, the wind suddenly pushing the door wide open to set a million papers flying.

"Huh? What's happening?" He heard someone call.
"OMG! I think Morro's back guys!" Someone else exclaimed.

Kai knew on the inside that he didn't want to this, he didn't want to be known as the 'villain' but he also craved it. He wanted to be on the opposite side of his betraying "friends".

(With everyone)
"What the heck is wrong with Cole?! What's his problem?" Skylor exclaimed obviously distressed.

"I'm not sure. But I don't like it." Nya responded as she wiped tears off of her face.

"I don't like it either. But what I do like is how Zane treated Cole! It was GOLD!" Jay yelled gleefully. Zane chuckled at this and just shrugged.

"I did what I had to do. I think I got Cole thinking. I think I got through to him."
Everyone nodded and started doing their own things as Skylor went back out to help the customers.

(With Kai)
As the papers settled down, everyone gasped at what they saw.
"It's the red ninja?"
"Where's Morro!?"
"Why'd he do that?"

Questions basically flew around in the air, with no answer of course.

"Kai?" Skylor raised an eyebrow as she came running from the back. She ran toward him and hugged him and prayed inside that what the others said were a lie.

Kai pushed Skylor away gently as he looked into Skylor eyes. Skylor shivered at the coldness in his once fiery eyes.

"Kai?" She repeated as he took a knife out from his side and slowly started moving it to her back.
"What are you doing?" She backed up as people began leaving.

"Answer me please! Why are you doing this?!" She asked but her voice increased in volume as he got closer.

Kai shook his head as she saw shame in his eyes. He raised the knife suddenly and etched an x on her back, lightly but still deep enough to leave a scar.

He then kicked her and commanded her not to tell anyone.
"Don't tell anyone. If you do, I will kill you. I love you, or at least I used to, so I won't kill you right now."

She nodded slowly, and Kai walked into where the ninja were staying. Skylor rubbed where he left the x on her back, and cried silently,

Not from the pain and blood spilling out of her back, but from the sadness she felt about what Kai had said to her. She wanted to be his, but he clearly didn't want her.

(With Kai and the ninjas)
Kai barged into her room, a scowl stitched onto his face as he slammed the doors open.

"Kai..." Jay broke the silence.
Kai didn't speak, he just pulled his gun out and pointed it at them.
Jay guarded Nya, while Lloyd and Zane got into a fighting stance.

Cole had left the restaurant, stating that he wanted some alone time, he wanted to think everything over, and he really wanted to find out if he had overreacted.

"Don't do this Kai. This isn't you. We're your family! We promised you that we would always be by your side!" Lloyd pleaded, it killed him to know that he might have to hurt Kai.

"What do you mean you promised? You...ALL of you hated me. You told me you didn't want me! But it's okay, I don't want you either." He spat coldly as he spun the gun in his hands. Then Zane spoke up.

"We never hated you. We were just mad, we showed it the wrong way." He explained calmly,

Kai lowered his gun a little.
"Really." He questioned.

"Really." Lloyd replied once again, lowering his stance as Zane followed shortly after.

Kai ran his finger through his hair, as he went up to them and hugged them. Lloyd and Zane smiled and hugged back.

Kai then smirked, a look you can't trust. the look you make when you won and no one knows yet. It was printed onto his face.

He pulled out his gun, put it against Lloyd's arm, and pulled the trigger. The sound echoed throughout the room, as smoke filled the air.

Zane felt something on his shoulder, but shook the feeling off thinking it was the debris and went to go help Lloyd. Lloyd held his arm as he fought back tears.

Kai ran out the room, passing Skylor who was now unconscious from blood loss. He leant down and kissed her head before running off into the dark street.

He formed his dragon and flew off at top speed to report information to the mysterious people he was helping.
He didn't what he was doing or what he was even thinking, if he was even think at all.

"I'm sorry. I can't help it, you've hurt me." He whispered as the wind carried his voice.

(With Lloyd and Zane)
"Ugh....it hurts...SO much..." Lloyd groaned as he felt his vision getting blurry.
"Stay with me Lloyd, you have to be awake in order for me to help."

"I can't. It hurts so much!" Lloyd yelled as Zane cleaned the hole that the gun had left behind. He then wrapped it up.

"Don't use that arm too much. It will heal faster if you don't." Zane said as he handed Lloyd some medication.

"Okay, but I wonder why Kai did that. What did I ever do?" He asked confused.
"I'm not sure Lloyd. I can't believe he fooled us that easily." Zane said.

"Yeah. Me neither."

Kai's Journal

Entry 6. XX/XX/XXXX
Day 6
Dear Journal,
I remember when I was fighting with my team, how our enemies would call us naive and dumb. I used to not believe them, and told myself that they were just jealous that we won and they didn't.

But now that I look at it, we are. I lied about them getting through to me, and hugged them.

When they left their guard down, I shot Lloyds arm, and left something for Zane in his system.

I would be sorry, I really do care about Lloyd, but after everything, I'm not really sure anymore if I'm happy or not with what I'm doing.

I know I'm doing horrible things, but I really don't care. They deserve it, I'm finally getting my reward after putting up with them.

I can't wait to finally destroy them, I can't wait really. I wish Skylor and my sister can join my side, so that I don't have to feel the pain of losing them.

And I wish Cole wasn't so dumb. Maybe if Cole and everyone else was nicer, this wouldn't have happened at all.

Just maybe.
