"Hey Camila." I said as I sat at my desk at school. She smiled and side hugged me. "Hey Y/n. How come Normani and you didn't walk with us?" She asked. "We woke up late. So my uncle dropped us off." I told her. "Also ever since the shorting he wants to drive us for now on." I said. "Lauren's dad said the same thing. He's getting his scheduled changed so that he can in the mornings. Then in the evenings my aunt is getting us." She said.
"Alright class settle down!" Mrs Johnson says as she walks in the class. Everyone in the class went silent and waited on her to speak. "How was everyone's weekend?" She asked. "Good!" We all answered. "Great. Did you all read the newspaper like I asked? Raise your hand if you did. Be honest." She asked. All the girls and a few guys raised their hand. "I forgot." Mark said. "Well I have something for the ones who didn't do their easy homework." She said making them groan.
"Now before we begin I'd like to introduce your new classmate. Emily come on in." A short light skinned black girl walked in. "Everyone this is Emily. I expect you all to treat her nicely." Mrs Johnson gave us all a firm look. "How about you sit in front of Y/n." Emily nodded and went to where our teacher nodded. "Hey Emily. I'm Y/n." I introduced myself and shook her hand. "And I'm Camila. You should hang out with us at lunch and recess." Camila suggests to her. "I'd like that. Thanks." Emily says.
"Now for everyone who did the weekend homework of reading the headlines. What happened?" Mrs Johnson asked. Myself and multiple classmates raised their hands. "Camila." She said. "On December 1, Rosa Parks was arrested." Camila said. "And can someone else tell me why?" Our teacher asked. She chose Emily who raised her hand. "She was arrested because she refused to give up her seat to a white passenger." She answered. "Correct. Now this whole thing for obvious reasons isn't fair. From all this happening in Alabama it's started a bus boycott. Now I want to know if you think it's good or bad." She said.
I raised my hand again and she picked me. "I think it's a good thing we boycott. To me they'll be losing money. For the ones that care cause they're losing money it might force them to change something. If we all come together now and get big voices to help we could possibly come up with something." I said. Mrs Johnson smiled and nodded. "I like the way you think kid." She said. She asked more of her students what they thought.
"Ok it's time for lunch but I will tell you your homework for tonight. Everyone who didn't do their work stand up." She commanded. "You too Mark. I remembered who didn't." Mark pouted but stood up. "Alright for those who did what was told does not have homework. As for you six you must do a two page work of math." She said and laughed as the groaned. "Should've did your homework like I ask. All you had to do was read and get a day free of homework. Now let's go to lunch."
A/n~ sorry for the late response. But now this is the only book I have to worry about now. Also Happy Pride everyone. 🌈
