I woke up to a weight on top of me. I looked down to see Camila laying across my body. Then I saw Emily hanging head first off the best. "I'm so glad I don't wake up easily. I slid from under Camila and headed to the bathroom. But I stopped as I got an idea. Smirking to myself I walked back over and pushed Emily off the bed before running into the bathroom. "I'm brushing my teeth." Lauren says as I pull my pants down. "And now I'm peeing. No hush so I can concentrate." I tell her.

"Your gross." She says before spitting out the foamy paste into the sink. "Says the girl who peed while Mani was showering." I said. "She's my best friend and she didn't care." She shrugged. Once I was finished I washed my hands. Then I started brushing my teeth. "Just like I didn't care too." I winked at her and she rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Don't complain when I attack you." She says leaving the room. "I'll be waiting." I shook my head knowing she was kidding. There's no privacy in this house between the females. Like my mom said to me growing up. There's no privacy in her house. But of course the guys have to respect ours.

When I was done I went and got dressed. I put on my blue jeans that had ripped at the bottom. They were to long at one point and I kept stepping on them. I put on a blue shirt that had stains in on. Then I finally put on my worn out Jeepers. I ran upstairs in search of my grandma. "Mama where's grandma at?" I asked peeking my head in her room. "She's out back waiting on you sweetie." I nodded and jogged out. "Well it's about time. I thought I was going to have to dig these holes myself." Grandma said when I stepped outside.

"Sorry grandma. Lauren wouldn't be quiet so I could be. Y'all know I got to focus." I told her. She chuckled and shook her head. "I don't know how I deal with you girls. Now let's get started planting some tomatoes." She handed me a shovel. I started digging holes while she carefully placed the plant inside. "So are you ready to start school here?" She asked me. "Yes and no. I don't know how it's going to go tho. Two of my teachers are white. Some of the students are white." I told her.

"You'll be fine. I know you will. I can't tell you they won't mock you or even push you. But you just have to stay focused and don't let them tear you down. I know that doesn't always work but eventually some of them might get bored. Your a strong girl. All of you. But there's always been something about you that always keep going even when you were done with everything." She says and rubs my cheek. "I won't let them get to me. Besides half them white kids stopped going to school because we going there. Anyways let's just finish these plants."
