Birmingham AlabamaToday I sat on the porch pouting. Everyone was helping Normani and Lauren pack their belongings into a moving van. Normani looked over at me and grinned. But I just rolled my eyes and looked down. Then my pouting was interrupted by a slap to the back of my head. "Ow!" I whine and rub my head. "Get off you behind and help your cousin move her things. Enough of that pouting." My aunt says. "Yes ma'am." I say and pout again when she walks away. I walk into the house and go to Normani's room.
When I got there I frowned and went to grab a box off her bed. Last year we moved to a different house. Camila family lives next door to us. Which we got very lucky with. Not everyday we find two vacant houses beside us. We live in a good neighborhood too. Our parents thought it would be good to start fresh.
"You know I'm only going to college right?" I look up and saw Mani leaning against the door frame. "No your moving to college. I thought you were going to go to school down here?" I asked. "I was. But then I got a really good offer for dance. Lauren also got a good offer for art. We can't pass up the opportunity to go to one of the best schools of art. We may never get another chance like this." She says. Pushing herself off the wall she sits on the bed and pays the spot next to her.
"What's the real reason your upset?" She asks and I shrug. "Come on y'all to me. I don't wanna leave on bad terms." She says and pushes my shoulder lightly. "Who am I going to talk to when your gone?" I ask. "Camila. She is your best friend." She says. "No I know. I mean your the only one in this house who knows I like girls." I tell her. "You can always just call me. No matter how late it is. It's not like I'm staying forever. I'm coming back on holidays."
"No you'll be busy." I say. "And? I'll still find time to talk to you. We all know mamas going to call me because your working her nerves." I laugh and nod. "That's true. In all honesty I'm going to miss you." Normani pouts and hugs me. "Aww I'll miss you too. I'll bring you something back when I come home." She tells me. "A bucket of snacks?" I ask. "You got yourself a deal. Now let's go before we get yelled at."

"Please don't go!" Camila begs as she holds onto Lauren. "Camila I have to go now. Let go of me." Lauren huffs once she realizes she wasn't letting go. "Come on Mila. Their only going to college." I say. "Like you wasn't just pouting in Normani's room." Camila says and flips me off. "I wasn't." I say and cross my arms. "We literally saw you through the window." Lauren says. "Ok fine. You ain't gotta announce it." I mumble. Finally Camila let's go. "We should be back in two days. Don't destroy the house." Our aunts points fingers at us.
"Especially you Y/n." My aunt says. "Come on ma. I break one vase and you hold it against me." I say. "You broke two." She says and pecks my head. "Make sure your uncle does he's chores I left and buys groceries." She whispers to me. "I got you. Grandma and I will keep him in check. No slacking on our watch." I tell her. "Right grandma!?" I ask who is sitting on the porch. She never leaves that rocking chair. "Right baby!" She tells back even tho she doesn't know what we're talking about. "Alright I love you. See you soon." She say hugging me one last time. "Love you too."
