I look between Jexton and the woman nervously. Jexton shrugs and as the woman moves aside, I aim my focus to the person emerging from the other side of the door. A man steps into the room and looks at the woman then at me. I tilt my head, then my eyes widen. "No!" I yell and everyone in the room flinches at my sudden outrage. "Go away! Stay away from me!" I yell.

Drade. My older brother. He used to abuse me and had made many rape attempts. I was relieved when he was old enough to move out and he was finally removed from our lives. Every time I tried to tell my mother about what he does to me, she wouldn't believe me and he would always find a way to turn the blame back to me.

"Farrah." Drade says softly and slowly walks toward me. I scream again and kick at him as he tries to get closer to me. He turns to the woman and apologizes. I begin to cry and Jexton tries to hold me in place. Drade stops walking and backs away a little.

"Is everything alright?" the woman asks. "Who is this man, do you know him?" she looks at me and I shake my head. Drade nods and says, "Yes, she's my sister."

Jexton turns to me with a curious expression on his face. "Farrah, you never told me you had a brother." he says and I stare at him blankly. "What has gotten into you?" he asks and I turn to Drade and glare at him.

"Leave." I demand and he lowers his brow. "I can take her home." Drade says to the woman and she nods. I shake my head and latch myself to Jexton. "I'm not going anywhere with you." I say and he shrugs. "You're gonna have to," he says. "you can't be running around here all by yourself. You're not eighteen yet."

"I'm not alone," I fire back. "I have Jexton."

"Come on, Farrah. Stop being so stubborn and let's go."

"No!" I yell and back away. "How did you even find me in the first place?" Jexton tightens his grip around me, making me feel safer. Drade shifts his weight and motions to the window.

"Well, I went to the house to visit you and mom. Come to find out it's burned to the ground. Drive some more, hear you're the new talk of the town. You're friends up at the community told me you ran off somewhere down this direction, and when I saw your buddy Jex here walking around with a handy-dandy tracking device, I followed him the rest of the way here."

I gape at my brother's explanation. He followed Jexton all the way here to find me? After all these years, why does he want to be apart of my life?

"You fucking creep." Jexton mumbles, furrowing his eyebrows and glaring at Drade.

"Farrah, you have to go with your brother. He's the only family you have left." Jexton whispers and I shake my head. "He raped me." I mumble and his eyes widen. "He hit me and beat me and raped me!" my voice gradually raises and Drade's eyes widen as he gapes.

"I did no such thing!" he defends and I shake my head.

"Don't try to lie. You may have gotten mom to believe you, but you sure as hell won't make these guys." I say sternly and everyone stays silent. "I'm not going anywhere with you. I will not allow you to hurt me again, and I sure as hell won't let you have all the access to my body as you want. Not again. I'm not a toy, I'm not a doll, and I'm not your fucking sister. Leave me alone and go back to wherever the hell it was you came from."

"Did you really do those things to that little girl?" the woman asks my brother and he turns to face her and looks down. He shakes his head and attempts a smile. "Of course not, no. I would never—"

"Stop lying! You know what you did! I have the scars to prove everything!" I scream through tears. Jexton has to hold me back from launching myself at him.

"I'll have to ask you to leave." the woman says and I mentally praise and thank her. "You can't tell me you're believing a little girl." Drade says and the woman gestures at me. "Do you see her? She's an emotional wreck, and you're telling me not to believe her? Leave. I will take care of her." she says and opens the door. "Better than you ever could." I mumble and Drade steps toward Jexton and I.

"What's that you said, little bitch?" Jexton steps in front of me in an attempt to block me from my brother; as if he actually could.

Drade is tall and somewhat muscular. He has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes that pierce the skin of anyone he comes into contact with. I'm surprised the woman has been able to stand up to him without giving in. All the years when I was younger, I always gave in to him. Simply because I was weak and innocent and helpless. I couldn't defend myself.

Drade rolls his eyes after glaring at Jexton. The woman slams the door behind him when he finally decides to leave, and relief floods over my weakened body.

Jexton turns around and I throw my arms around him and cry. "It's okay," he hushes me. "it's okay, he's gone now."

"I can feel it." I whisper. "It hurts!" I wince and I open my eyes to see the woman gaping with widened eyes, staring at me with disbelief.
