Ayla's outfit.
I can do this. I can do this. I can do this. I can-
Who am I kidding? I can't fucking do this.
No way can I sit with Cole the entire night, pretending to be his girl. Not only that, but I have to refer to Cole as Zach because the people we are meeting with think they are meeting with Zach.
Layla changed up Cole and I's looks a bit, so that no one would recognize us, but what if they see past that and do recognize us. Then what?
What if I mess up and call him his actual name? How do I pretend to be Cole's girl for the night? What exactly am I supposed to do? What if things go wrong?
The limo came to a stop and I pushed my thoughts to the back of my head, forcing myself to try and stay calm.
Cole opened the door and got out. I got out after him and fixed my dress before he grabbed my hand and pulled me to his side.
"Do not leave my side. There are many nights you can try to run away, but tonight is not one of them. This place is crowded with dangerous men and women who will not show an inch of compassion to you if you are left alone. Do you understand?" Cole spoke a bit quietly so that only I could hear.
I only nodded my head, knowing my voice will come out shaky from the fear clawing at my chest. It's only Cole and I here. No other men or guards so the guy we are meeting with us won't find anything suspicious about us. Something could go horribly wrong and no one would come to help us.
"Look at me." Cole demanded and I slowly lifted my eyes to meet his. He brought his hand up and hesitated for a second before taking a strand of my hair and putting it behind my ear. "I'll keep you safe as long as you're beside me."
I nodded again, suddenly not knowing how to speak. It always puts me into shock when Cole is being kind and isn't yelling at me.
He gave my hand a small squeeze and then led me towards a door at the side of the club. The guard kept his eyes on us, his hand on the gun at his side.
We stopped in front of the guard and I forced a small smile on my face to hide the nervousness in my expression.
"The entrance of the club is over there." The guard spoke, pointing to the entrance behind us.
"I need to speak with Demetrio Owens." Cole said and the man tightened his hold on his gun.
"Your name?" The guard asked.
"Zachary Morales." Cole replied and the guard gave us a once over with his eyes before going into the building and leaving us to wait outside.
I stood closer to Cole and forced good thoughts into my mind so I don't scare myself more than I already have.
The guard opened the door and nodded once. Cole grabbed my hand and led me into the building with him.
Once the guard locked the door behind us, he led us down the hallway. Cole let go of my hand and put his arm around my waist, pulling me against him.
The guard stopped at a door and opened it for us. Cole and I walked in and the guard shut the door, not coming in with us.
"Zachary, it's about time we finally met!" Cole and I turned to see a short, chubby man walking towards us. He's smiling widely, showing off his golden teeth.
"Mr. Owens." Cole greeted, holding his hand out for a handshake.
"Please, call me Demetrio." The man replied, while shaking Cole's hand. "And who is this pretty little thing?"
