Layla's POV

Cole had his men evacuate everyone in the mall and then secure the place. We all sat in the security room, watching over the security footage of Ayla.

"It's Archer." I confirmed, pausing the footage the moment Archer looks up at the camera with a smirk.

"I know it's him. He was on the damn phone with me." Cole replied, glaring at the computer screen.

"Check the outside cameras. There has to be something to show a direction he went or who was with him." Jason said as he came over to switch to the outside cameras.

"He could be anywhere right now." Mackenzie muttered and that earned her a glare from Cole. "Do you guys know what he might want with Ayla?"

"He's working with Robert. That's what we know for sure. We had an idea of what their plan might be, but now that Ayla is involved, I'm not so sure." Zach sighed, dragging a hand down his face.

"I'll email this footage to you." I told Cole as I did it. "We should head home and try to figure this out."

"Why the fuck would you take her out without telling me first?" Cole spoke up and the girls and I freeze. We turned to each other and then back to Cole. "Did I not make it clear that someone had to be with her at all times? That she could not go out without my permission? I told you all the risks."

"She just looked so down these days... we wanted to cheer her up." Janet said and scratched the back of her neck.

"Maybe try to calm down a bit? We'll find her." Mackenzie said and I watched as she tried to put a hand on Cole's shoulder, but he grabbed her wrist and glared harder at her.

Why would you tell an angry person to calm down? Jesus Christ, she's going to get us into bigger trouble.

"I found license plates." Jason spoke up and we all turned to him. "Ayla was carried into this van. A few other men were in the back where they dragged her in."

We all stood around Jason and Cole, watching the footage. Jason zoomed into the license plates on the front and back.

"I can find out where the car is right now, but it might take some time." Mason said.

"Do it back at the house." Cole responded and we all gathered our things.

I know Ayla is tough, but after everything she's been through, I hope she'll continue to stay strong.

Ayla's POV

I groaned softly, slowly opening my eyes. I squinted from the headache I have and blinked my eyes a few times. The room is a bit dark, so it took my eyes a while to get used to the darkness. A bit of moonlight shined through the single window in the room.

Where the hell am I?

I looked around, but can't see much, so I leaned my head back against the wall behind me. My hands and ankles are tied together and I'm cold.
