Chapter 12: Team 7 Mission w/Sumire

Boruto POV

I woke up and prepared myself. After having breakfast, chatting with my family and preparing my backpack, I rush to the village gates. Hoping that I won't be late. But yet again, I am.

"And look who's late. Seems like papa's training has gone to waste. Maybe I should do that too." Sarada teased me.

"Please don't. 30 push ups in the morning is not nice." I said back.

"Alright, please don't argue Boruto, Sarada. We have a long way to go." Sumire interrupted timidly. With a nod, we all left the village to go to the Hidden Sand Village, where the Kazekage, Uncle Gaara waits.

On the way there, everyone was really quiet, so I stayed quiet too. I was not going to get killed by the she-Uchiha. Maybe tomorrow, but not today. We kept a close eye on our surroundings, just in case anything happens, Luckily for us, nothing did.

Normal POV

A few hours later, the team arrived at a river between the land of fire and wind.

"There's a river. The sun in going down anyway, so we better set up camp there, across the river." Sarada commanded.

The river current was strong, but not so strong that it is not passable.

Sarada and Mitsuki crossed the river first. But, when Sumire tries to cross the river, she slipped and fell into the river. Boruto jumped into the river and tried to drag her out of the water.

"I got you" Boruto said while dragging her to the riverbank.

Once on land, Mitsuki scurried to Sumire, wiping her with such gentleness. Sarada, on the other hand, just threw a towel straight at Boruto's face.

"Oww, what is that for?"

"You know that the current is not so strong and she can swim by herself, right?" Sarada replied.

"But, I just want to help her, that's all"

He turned around and saw Mitsuki gave him an eerie smile, one a grim reaper has when he is about to take someone's life. Sarada is the same, except rather than smile, she gave him death glare.

'What's up with them?' Boruto thought, shivering in fear. 

-30 minutes later- 

The squad is wrapped around the fire, eating their dinner. 

"Hey, guys. I'm bored!" Boruto groaned as he finished his fish.

 "Well, what do you want to do? Drown in the river again?" Sarada replied sarcastically. 

"No! I mean let's play a game!" Boruto suggested, a dangerous glint in his eyes. 

"Oh, sure. What?" Mitsuki asked in short curt tones, clearly showing his annoyance. 

"How about... Truth or Dare?" Boruto suggested, the glint still present in his eyes. 

"No way! It's too childi-" 

"I don't mind playing." Sumire spoke up for the first time.

Mitsuki sighed. "If she's playing, then I'm playing." 

Sumire blushed at his reasoning, but stayed silent. 

"Then I'll play too, seeing I have nothing to do." Sarada hesitantly agreed. 

"Good. Mitsuki, Truth or Dare?" 

"Truth." 

"Would you rather pick Sumire or Chocho?" Boruto grinned, even though the knew the answer.

"Sumire, of course." Mitsuki answered without any though. No blush, no stutter, none. 

"M-M-mits-" Sumire's stutters were interrupted. 

 "Sumire, your turn." Sarada interrupted. 

"Truth or Dare?" 

"...dare, I guess." 

"Then, I dare you to hug Mitsuki."

 As expected, Sumire has an outburst. "H-HUG?! N-NO, IT'S FINE! I'LL DO ANOTHER ONE!" 

"Then, do you want to kiss him instead?" Sarada offered. 

"N-NO! I'LL PICK A HUG THEN!" Sumire rushed towards Mitsuki, who already has his arms open wide and hugged him. Then, a few seconds later, she fainted. 

 "Is she okay?" Boruto asked, checking her forehead. "Did she get a fever or something that made her faint?" 

Mitsuki quickly brushed Boruto's hands off Sumire's forehead. and replaced it with his 

"No, she doesn't. I'll let her rest here then." "Oookay, I guess!" Boruto shrugged. 

"Sarada. Truth or Dare." 

"Dare." The Uchiha replied confidently. 

"Get closer so I can whisper it to you." Sarada went closer to Mitsuki.

Mitsuki whispered to her, 'Kiss Him'.

After the whisper, Sarada's face turned red."No! I can't do that!"

"An Uchiha has to keep her promises." Mitsuki replied, smiling. 

 "Oh fine!" With a light blush, Sarada approached Boruto and 

 "Maybe next time." She said while poking Boruto's forehead with her index and middle finger. 

They continue the game until it's midnight. 

 With a yawn, Sarada said. "Maybe we should hit the hay(sleep) now."

"Probably. Good night guys."Boruto replied. 

The rest of the squad stood up,put the fire out and went to sleep.

The river part of this part was inspired by a Malaysian Literature Novel for Secondary School, "Jejak MONPUS". Yeah, it is not that I'm stealing ideas right?
