Chapter 21: Tragedy in the past

-On their way from the Karaoke-

Boruto and the team was strolling around the village, walking towards the homestay, which is few kilometers away (Sorry Americans, I used to metrics measurements).

On their way there.......

"Hey, I haven't seen Kawaki for a while. Where is him right now???" Boruto asked the team.

The team silence for a moment after that question, especially Sarada.

"What??? Did I say something wrong??" Boruto asked.

"It's nothing. We didn't heard of him too." Sarada answer with a hard tone.

In the nick of time, they arrived at the homestay. Mitsuki and Boruto headed to their room while Sarada and Sumire to theirs.

"So Mitsuki, what is actually Sarada been hiding about??" Boruto asked him as he sat on the bed.

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't try to fool me, Mitsuki. I know she was hiding something. What actually happened to Kawaki??"

"There is nothing to talk about him."

"Tell me, Mitsuki!!! I need to know!!! He is my friend!!!!"

12 months ago, a year after you left the village. Team 7 have been assigned to investigate one of Kara organization outpost. Since you were out of the village, Lord Seventh entrusted Kawaki to substitute you. The location of the organization base is at an underground building inside a cave east to the Hidden Rain Village. During the mission, I was tasked to take out the guards so we could blend in easily. In there, I saw some expriments about something that looks like a copied version of your Karma. Unbeknown to us the ninjas already detected us, by our chakra. The ninja cornered us from each direction. We faught hard and none of us can defeat the ninjas. It seems like they boosted their strength somehow. Kawaki device a escape plan by him acting as a decoy, so we could escape. Sarada disagree at first, but they is no way left except this. Sarada and I escaped but leaving Kawaki behind. As we escape, I can still hear the punching beating of Kawaki instead their base. Sarada never gonna forget that. Until now, we didn't hear any news about Kawaki. Before we go, Kawaki said "Team 7 have to keep live on, for the future of the shinobi world" "

Boruto remain silent after listening to Mitsuki's explanation.
"He went all of that just to save our team???!"

Mitsuki nodded.
