-Alex's POV-
It's 6th period now. Again, standing in line waiting for the teacher to come back. It's always like this I swear. If this wasn't the last class of the day, this would probably piss me off but it's actually less time in class and quicker to getting out of the school.
Danny walks up calmly. He has a hint of a smile dancing playfully on his lips. Then I remembered he kissed my cheek. I can feel my cheeks burn with embarrassment so I turn away, hiding my face.
He's standing in front of me, I can see his feet but it's his scent that caught me. He smells really good.
"What are you wearing?" I mumbled
"Clothes, why wanna see me undress?" Don't have to look to know he has a sly smile on his face.
"Ha,ha. Cute. Know I meant what's that smell?" Finally I look at him and his sly smile grew into a real smile, he reaches over, pushing my hair out of my face.
"Oh, it's this limited edition Black cologne. It's rare. You like?" He leans in closer to me, placing his hand on the wall behind me, he's towering over me. I can smell his cologne, the cigarette smell hidden underneath it. His face is close, I can see his flawless porcelain skin, his angler jawline sharp, high cheekbones that give him strong looking features. He was stunning, his pale blue ocean eyes pull me in, taking me back. His lips are soft and warm, gentle.
"What are you staring at?"
"Oh sorry..." I shuffle my feet shyly, embarrassed again.
"Hun, are my devilish good looks hard to resist?" He winked and raised his right eyebrow. I scuff at him.
"Please, you're not that attractive" I fold my arms trying to hold my ground.
"Now, that's not what you said earlier. Where's your little friend, he was there. He heard you too" Damn it.. my own tongue betrayed me. What do I say... fuck, what do I say!!
"Know what, yeah you're cute, I'll give you that. But, you know that too. You use it to your advantage" I turn away, smirking at him then kicking myself moving away.
The teacher finally shows up, unlocking the door, pitter patters heard from our feet as we enter the room. I feel a tug on my hair, looking back at Danny as he grabs ahold of my shoulder. Oh shit, he's getting too touchy. Honestly, I want to pretend I'm delusional but the truth is, he's showing signs of interest and it's freaking me out. He's been here, I think two years and some months. He's only dated Sasha, but the stories the girls share don't make it sound like he's a virgin. The girls giggle, he winks. They stare, he mind fucks them, then they left school with the girls on his arms. He's the bad boy, not all rumors are true but the rumors that are true are just facts.
Pushing past my thoughts I quickly move to my seat in the side of the room, next to the windows. My luck he sat in front me, he pulled the chair right up to the front of my desk, he sat facing me. He laid his head on my desk, he let out a sigh. His back tensed then relaxed.
Before I could stop it, my hand reached into his hair, it was soft like black silk. He took care of it. I couldn't help running my fingers through his hair, he even let out a little groan. I panicked when he moved one of his hand to my elbow. He was rubbing it gently with his thumb, creating a weird tingle in my skin. He was being gentle.
We sat like that while the teacher was preparing the lecture today. He would groan a little here and there, at some point I started rubbing his head too. He chuckled under his breath at that. As weird as it sounds I think we're bonding through this. Given the bad boy reputation, you'd never think to see him this vulnerable.
Then the teacher fucking called us out falsely "If you two love birds would like to start class, Danny could you turn around?"
My cheeks light up bright red shaking my head in shock. It was Danny that corrected him.
"Oh please old man, we're just friends. Besides, I bet if you had hair you'd like it played with too." He twisted sideways leaning against the window pane, extending his legs into the pathway for the row of seats. He's playing cool but he was blushing a little too.
This is a confusing situation. Trying not to think about it, I throw myself into writing notes and listening to the lectures. Danny decided to share my desk so he's writing notes on my desk too, while also correcting my grammar and misspellings. It would have been annoying if I didn't kind of appreciate it. It's hard taking notes all the time and having someone paying attention to detail really boosts my motivation. It's junior year, I don't want to be the senior with 6 classes. I have 7 credits left to graduate, I took one study hall for second period so I can eat breakfast and get unfinished homework done. Having good notes helps and you can get work done better. Wonder what Danny's notes look like, especially if he's correcting mine.
The lecture is finally over and the teacher is at his desk in the front of the class on his phone. He's not even trying to pay attention to us. Obviously, since there's a couple making out in the back of the room. Danny went over his notes, he was correcting his own work. I stared out the window while he worked. Watching the birds hop from tree to tree, the wind shaking the leaves loose, the grass shining in the sun. It was a beautiful day out. Think I'm gonna sit on my porch and read when I get home. I still have to finish Time Weavers. So far it's an amazing book that really captures your imagination. It's like the words come to life. You can hear every word. Breathe in the same air. You know when it's cold, you feel when it's hot. The chemistry written with each character builds a relationship not only with each other but with the reader. I don't remember the authors name but she's new and the book is only a year old. Brilliant book though.
Lost in thought, I hadn't noticed Danny watching me. He had put all his stuff away, then sat propped up against the desk, staring at me, his ocean eyes shimmer in the sun, he looked as if he was admiring pure beauty. I couldn't help but look at him in shock.
"Why are you staring like that?" It forced me to hold myself, it was awkward.
"Oh, you looked beautiful with the sun on you. Your eyes caught me" he just smiled making googling eyes.
"You're a dork" I mumble. Please let the class end soon.. please let class end soon. Kept begging over and over.
"Thank you, -he snickered- you okay though?" He seemed concerned.
"I'm fine, thank you" my leg begins to shake.
"Yeah, okay. You can't lie to me. I see right through you." There's that damn smirk again.
"If you're so intuitive, what's the problem?" I glare back.
"Wanna know?... -he leans in caressing my cheek- I think you like me. You don't want to admit it either. Don't worry, I'll keep it secret" this boy. I glare harder.
"So full of yourself." Looking back out the window, noticing a squirrel climbing up a tree.
"Am I wrong then?"
"Truth is sweetie, you freak me out. You're very touchy, you get way too close. You're breath smells like cigarettes and mouth wash and you your personality needs work"
"You say that.. but your body reactions tell a different story" the bell rings and he grabbed my bag, slowly putting it over my shoulder. "You ready to go?"
No... "yep" pushing past him, making sure not to touch him, I head for the door. Standing by, letting everyone leave first, he slouched over to lean against the door frame, he grabbed my hand, slipping us past everyone in line, he pulls me towards my locker. He gripped my hand tighter, pulling me to his side, he pushed our way through the hall, we reached my locker so he stopped, letting me get into it. He's shielding my body away from the crowds. Almost as if it's protection. Exchanging stuff from locker to bag and vise versa, I close and lock the door. Danny wrapped his arm around my shoulders, walking side by side out the door. Sasha giving us the death stare. If looks could kill, she would have murdered us, our parents, you name it. But he kept us walking right on by.
