-Nathan's POV-
Today has been so damn boring already. I forgot my lunch, the alarm never wont off on time forcing me to not style my hair today. The car didn't start for dad and then the bus ran late. It's like one big fuck you to Nathan day. As I am shoving stuff in my locker, down the hall there's gasps then silence, it was infectious. Everyone in the hall was looking at the front door. Nothing was there so I turned to look away. That's when the door opened, Danny was holding it for Alex with his arm around her.
"No fucking way" fell out of my mouth quietly.. Alex doesn't even like him. They don't even talk? How do they.. Too many questions, my brains gonna explode. Oh shit, she saw me. Now she's coming this way. Is he gonna let go of her? Will they go separate... No, oh shit.. No, he's coming too. Looking smug as ever.
"Nathan!" She runs up and gives me a hug, the quick movement made Danny release his arm around her so I picked Alex up and put her on the other side of me, shielding her from.. that thing -looks at him with a scowl then looks at Alex with a fake smile- I will have to do damage control.
"Hey Ally.. So, what's going on?" I lean against the locker, resting my hand on her waist, pulling her closer.
"Nathan.. I know you said.." I cut her off. "I know exactly what I said. Danny is a no no zoned guy." she sighed, this bitch sigh at me, for real.
"Babe, no. You don't get to act that way. He's trouble." I pull her in, "Don't you know what they say about him, I don't want that attached to you too baby girl. I am looking out for you" I brush hair behind her ear then kiss her cheek. She blushed as a hand came crashing down on my shoulder.
"Hey sorry, hate to interrupt what ever this is but.. Alex, you have 10 minutes to get to class, right? Isn't it upstairs? I'll take you." Danny said patting my shoulder then letting go.. He was sending a message he shouldn't have.
"Um. No.. I will walk her to her class, since I am in it with her and you can go away." I turn to Alex, grabbing her hand and pulling her away after closing my locker. I know I left a lot of stuff I needed in my locker still, like a fucking pencil, but getting her away from him is more important than passing a test that covers 40% of my already shit grade. It's fine.. I let out a sigh of my own. She has always gotten into trouble. What does this guy want with my best friend.
I drag her to the class and sit her in our usual spots. I can't sit, my mind is racing, meaning my legs are pacing and she's not talking. She's just looking down, playing with her fingers..
"Please, tell me what's going on?" I plead to her, placing my face in her lap, kneeling in front of her. She runs her fingers through my hair..
"IF I tell you what is going on, so far, that I know of, will you try to relax? Also, no more products. You're hair feels so much softer right now." She had a stern, honest tone to her voice.
"Fine.. To both of those..." I get up and sit in my seat, facing her. "Spill it."
Alex instantly went into the details, explaining everything that's happened since the first time Danny walked her home, How she saw him see her gag at Sasha twirling for her, she even said Danny laughed at her for doing it. She talked about his hoodie and how good it smelled, even if it also smelt like cigarettes. What caught me off guard was how she was describing his body movements, the way his face moved, his actions, how sweet he could be. It dawned on me she was starting to like him.
"Oh, hell no!" I blurted out. She stopped, shocked.
"What?"
"You like him!? Oh, you so like him." I scowl at her.
"No! I swear. It's not like that, nothing like that" She even held her hands up, surrendering.
"Do you think it's hard to see the signs? It's a bit obvious. You're wearing lip gloss, I can see your stomach. You ass looks fantastic in those jeans. How can it not be obvious." Shrugging I lean back, facing the board again. I was over the conversation. She's gonna get herself into some trouble. I will just be the friend that saves her again.
