Part 23: Homeward Bound

-Danny's POV-

It's 10 o'clock and and her phone chimed. It startled us both as she reached for it. We were in the middle of the second part to Maze Runner, after completing the first one. We shared a few glances and kisses here and there, mainly me with the kisses but, it felt right.

"Oh, I gotta go." She hurried to her feet, stumbling off the bed a bit but catches herself in the end.

"Right now? We still have a movie to finish. Here, let me talk to your mom, call her." I hold my hand out, waiting for her phone.

"But.. she said to get home. It's late."

"After the movie is over, I will personally walk you home, to the front door, safe and sound. Now call her." I let out a sigh and shake my head, laughing under my breathe. Alex needs to learn to live a little. Relax and not take everything so serious, including rules.

She looks worried as she clicks on her moms number and calls it, pressing the phone to her ear.

One ring....

Two...

Half a ring later, her mom picks up. "Hello peanut, what's wrong? You okay? You on your way back?"

"Mom.. um. Would.. W-would it be ahh.. okay if I stay and finish the movie with Danny? He said he promised he would walk me home, too. To the front door. Y'know.. k-keep me safe?"

"I don't see why not dear. Make sure to say thank you to his parents when you leave." That one stung a bit to hear. Her mom must not know it's just mom and I. It doesn't matter, Alex looks relieved and that's all I care about.

"Well, looks like you get to stay Little Thing" I can't help but smile at her, she even smiled too. I can't believe this is happening. It's too surreal.. The lady is absolutely beautiful and not just related to looks, her personality too. Her soul, who she is, that is also very stunning. Her attitude is feisty but sweet and anyone that doesn't think feisty is sexy, is flat out lying. She grabs your attention within seconds with everything she says. She can be witty and wise at the same time, then so ditsy and confused the next. Yet, I love everything about her so far.

What do you do when the girl you like lays down next to you but won't come too close? That's easy. You grab her elbow and pull her closer, wrap your arm around her neck, to give her some comfort and support, then gently grab her hand, rubbing her thumb softly. Here's a pro tip, don't make eye contact. They will look up at you, all you do then.. is smile. Not at them, ahead. So they see it makes you visibly happy, but it gives you the advantage. They want that cinematic moment where you look into each others eyes, lean in slowly, then kiss.

So the trick is to save that moment. In a bed, watching Maze Runner two is not the right moment. This might not be an official date, but it is our first time ever spending together, excluding the very indulging moment before my mom knocked. I probably shouldn't have let it get that far. I would gladly do it again, but given we still don't really know each other. At least our sexual attraction is checked. It's very much there and thriving. Now, if I could just plan this out better, I can not only make her fall in love, but make her want this for the long hall.

I haven't payed attention to the movie at all. I have seen it a few times before but she hasn't so we watched it for her. She really lights up when the action comes in and she gets so into the plot and relationships between each other. She genuinely feels bad if someone gets hurt or almost dies, the gun fire scares her, and the romance entices her. Watching her was like a movie all in it's own. Of course, not letting her know I was watching because.. well, that's weird to stare. Mom always taught me that.
