-Danny's POV-
Walking up her steps gave me chills. Knowing how she is, she's not going to like having me over, but I am bored, Sasha's at my house refusing to leave, also.. I kind of want to see her. She's funny and it's kind of cool to have witty banter with someone else who looks cute doing it. Maybe it's how her eyes express everything openly even if she's trying to hide it.
"Good evening, young mister. How may I help you"
"Hello, Mrs. Lifton. I don't mean to intrude, but I am a friend of Alex's. I was wondering if you'd be okay with me spending some time with her?"
The way her mom opened the door so sweetly made it irresistible to not be just as sweet. Her smile was infectious, her eyes are warm and soft brown, like honey. Alex must have gotten her dads eyes because they're only 1/3rd as honey brown as her moms. Alex's eyes are hazel(blue, green, brown). One thing both have in common with their eyes is that dark ring around them. That's how you noticed them so easily. They draw you in. Mrs. Lifton is a pretty woman.
She smiles and seems to like her first impression. Those are important.
"Oh, of course honey. Does she know you're here?" She turns letting me pass into the house.
"No, Mrs. Lifton. I'm sorry about that. Kind of wanted to surprise her" I smile slipping past her, standing by the kitchen. She closed the door and turns to her left, leading down a small hallway with one door at the end. Her mom walks up and knocks. Some how the whole experience makes me snicker. It felt so surreal and humorous. Mrs. Lifton opened the door about half way, standing in between me and the door, she wasn't going to let me in without checking with her daughter first. That's admirable.
I peak over her shoulder winking at Alex sitting on her bed, who looks up, noticed the wink then visibly scowled, as her mom begins to speak.
"Are you comfortable with him here, with you?" She shifts on one foot, holding the door knob.
"Mom, it's fine. Thank you for asking though." Alex reassured her with a smile. I knew inside she was struggling. Getting under her skin is fun. It's like knowing you're a weakness. Just imagine the fun we could have arguing. Maybe that's a toxic thought.
Her mom pushes the door open more allowing me by, I head for the desk chair in the corner.
Her rooms a bit small. The desk is at the end of her bed and the bed is right next to the door. There's a small walking area. If the door was open all the way, it'd be right next to her standing dresser. There's a gap passed her dresser where nothing is then the wall with a built in shelf with a spot for the tv to sit. She decorated with poems written on the wall, scarfs hanging on the lamps and off random objects. She has a black fur rug on her hard wood floor by her bed. The desk is pressed up to the built in shelf in the corner, she actually has binders, files, folder, notebooks, basically everything she could ever need for school set up at this desk. She has a printer with extra printer paper and ink just sitting on the shelf, ready to go. She's got a paper shredder, half full. under the stand. A laptop set up right in the middle. Honestly, it's more organized that a museum. Alex is proud of this. She is very neat and responsible, it seems. As I am thinking I might have gotten in way over my head here, Mrs. Lifton leaves and Alex's voice calling my name brought me back to reality.
"Hmm, Yes Alex? Sorry, I was checking out your room." I shrug looking around once again then at her. She looks embarrassed, her cheeks a rose red, bringing on a sort of new innocent look to her. I felt like I saw something I shouldn't have. Something that violates her.
"What are you doing here?" Her hand reached up tucking hair behind her ear then she started playing with her hand looking down.
"You okay?" Had to ask.
