-Danny's POV-
Her shocked expression makes me catch my breathe for a second, she is actually really adorable. Her eyes get wider, making the color pop a bit more. Her small plump lips perfect, today it's clear gloss to make them stand out. I brush my thoughts off with a quick blink and return my attention back to the task at hand.
"What?" I look into her eyes, smirking.
"You never sit here. You sit in the back, always the middle row." She said it so matter of fact like I actually realized she payed attention to that detail. Ironically, if she didn't sit where she did, I would have sat here.
"You shouldn't have sat there then. Could have sat here sooner." I shake my head and pull my notebook out. It's English class, the one class I actually enjoy. I slip my pen out of my left front pocket on my grey skinny jeans then open the cap, writing my name and date in the corner and filling out the notes on the board.
"Um.. you could have just sat there. You didn't have to let me stop you." Hmm. That's a valid point. Shit. She's good.
"Well, I will keep that in mind." I continue to write as she watches me carefully, her mind displayed on her face, looking for answer to questions she didn't know she had. Good, be distracted Little thing. She's distracted enough I watch her expressions shift. Watching her lost in thought was a beautiful sight, watching her mind work and process was like watching a movie you didn't know what was being said but know the plot. Her eyes widen, think she realized she has been actively staring up at the roof while facing me. My smirk was threatening to turn to a grin so I cover my mouth up using my hand, hiding it.
"You're gonna miss the lesson" I advise to Alex. she looked startled and shifted around in her seat. I wanted to talk to her more, but that won't get my plan to work. I will set it in motion on the walk home.
Half way through the teachers lectures, I flip a few pages in my notebook and scribbled out "Imma walk you home" then slid it under Alex's arm. she instinctively pulled it forward and opened it. From the back of her head I could tell she was shaking her head. Knowing I am still going to walk her even if she says not to, when she wrote on the paper and slid it back. Seeing "Ahh, okay? Why though?" I laughed, not a heavy one. A light chuckle. "Stop asking why. Maybe I just want to." slid it back.
We went on the rest of the class in silence. She kept the paper, she folded it and hid it in her binder's pocket. I did get a few sights in on her notes to see if she got them all. She didn't, she missed important side notes and tips. She's not gonna pass the class with that work ethic. The teacher finally finished up the lesson and the students got to have the rest of the class to ourselves. Usually I put my headphones in and lay down for a quick nap. Today, I stand up, stretch and sit in front of Alex, turning the chair to the side, sitting down leaning against the windows. I look at her and point out she forgot to capitalize her "T" in the third sentence on her notes, earning me daggers from her eyes. I rewarded her with a smile.
"Why are you sitting there, Danny?" she just leans against her desk, propping her head up on her hand.
"Oh, come on. Thought you said not to let you stop me?" I bite my lip playfully and she actually giggled. It was probably the cutest thing I have ever seen in a while. He nose scrunched up, and her laugh was light and sweet. It made me blush so I looked down, avoiding her gaze for a few to adjust back to normal.
"Fine, you got me. What's with walking me home though?"
"You ask a lot of questions."
"Well... If I am honest, I don't trust you." She said sternly. She didn't hesitate or falter. That's concerning for me.
"What did I do to warrant this lack of trust?" Instinctively, I look at her eyes.
"You dated that.. thing." I couldn't hold back my laugh. She talked about Sasha like she's a creature or monster.
"She and I are not really much a alike there, Alex". I let out a sigh. Yeah, she would drive into a puddle and soak you where as I'd just give you a ride to get you out of the rain. We are not a like in many ways, being cruel is one of them. "Plus, we broke up. You shouldn't hold me accountable for my ex's actions"
"You never stopped her" Was this how she was with everyone? Damn.
"Yes, I did. We broke up because of her childish behavior towards you, among other reasons." Her mouth dropped to this information. "What, did you believe the rumors instead?" I smirk at her deviously.
"I mean.. I didn't really want to think about what could have happen cause its really no one's business but yours and hers" Now I am surprised again.
"Well.. okay then. Shit." I let out a light chuckle and she giggles. This is a good start. I lean onto her desk leaning close to her.. "Okay, lets make a deal"
"What? What kind of deal?"
"You see, I need to make a friend and you need a body guard basically, we could help each other out."
"Not interested." she absentmindedly stated looking back over her notes. I scowl..
"Why? Sasha will leave you alone."
"Okay, why do you want to be friends with me?" Huh.. I was so caught of guard by this. Questions popped in my head so quick. Things like, how the fuck does she not see what's going on. I am popular for not being popular, I am the "bad boy". Talking to you is against my nature. she's really oblivious. I shake my head and try to pick up where she left off.
"Give me a week, I can convince you I want to be a genuine friend." She looked me up in down like I was absolutely ridiculous causing me to smile sweetly, she's not even being serious and it shows in her eyes, her eyes she tried so hard to seem harsher than they are. She's a soft hearted person with a tough shell. The more I learn, the more cute she gets. She glanced at the clock and started packing up so I too stood up and packed my bag. I noticed her watching my every move so I purposely moved slowly, letting her eyes linger on my movements. I want her to see each detail. Draw her in. One things for sure, others thinking I am attractive is helpful.
Authors Notes: This is a story that will be longer than expected, meaning the characters will take time to really develop through this process of getting to know each other. Please, have patience. Thank you.
