Chapter 16

A month later

It was a day before Christmas eve, remembering one of the questions from a month ago I decided to a somewhat of a romantic gesture by surprising her with lunch!

I also finally got a job as a waiter about a few weeks ago. So I was pretty happy about that because when university ended for the holidays last week I had time on my hands, working was keeping me occupied instead of being moopy that I couldn't spend time with Davina because she was busy.

I walked to Davina's office and Maverick looked to be in a pretty bad mood shouted at me not to knock because Davina was in a meeting.

I gave him the middle finger and fished out my phone from my coat and text Davina that I was near her office.

I was surprised she texted back.

"Be done with the meeting in ten minutes, tell Maverick I said you can sit in the chair across from him."

"She said to sit in this chair and wait until she was done," I said to Maverick, sticking my tongue out at him.

Ten minutes later her door opened and a young man came out along with Davina, they shook hands and Davina said she'll get back to him.

I got up from the chair and even though Davina had sent a picture of what she was wearing this morning which was a green dress with a Santa's hat on, looking at her in person she was so much more beautiful looking.

"Now what can I do for you, Honey?" She said to me.

I held up the bag that contained food.

"I thought I would surprise you with lunch."

"I am very hungry so thank you." She took my free hand and dragged me into her office. She shut the door behind us.

"What's with him? He seems pretty pissed."

"After New Year's he has a week left working here. The guy that left was someone I interviewed for the job as my assistant."

"Helluva! There is a God! What made you finally fire his sorry butt?" I asked as I started to take the food out of the bag.

"If I tell you, you promise you won't go out there to cause a scene?"

I stopped for a second.

"He made a pass at you didn't he?"

"Promise me before I tell you."

I sighed.

"Yeah, I promise."

"He groped me so I talked to Sandy, she said I no longer owed her a favor."

"Son-of-a-bitch! Did she at least break up with him?"

"No, after the week he has left when we get back to work she is going to make him a 24/7 submissive for a while and come up with punishments."

"I think she should just end things now."

"I agree but it's her life, we cannot tell her what to do. Now, what did you get me to eat?"

"I decided to try something different I hope you like what I've gotten you. Grilled chicken and avocado salad." I said as I handed her the container.

"You went to Eva's Kitchen didn't you?"

"How did you know?"

"Because I go there often!"
