Chapter 25

A few days later

I was cooking in my mother's kitchen while she directed me on what to do.

Davina and I were having supper with my family, which was why I was in the kitchen.

The last known whereabouts of Davina was she was in the living room with Thumper on her lap and Davina was petting him.

I was cooking some kind of casserole. I had just finish browning the smoked sausage.

"Mix up the milk and the mushroom soup."

I did that and then she told me to add the chopped onion I had chopped up and the cheese, with the corn and the sausage.

It was peas I was supposed to add but Davina didn't like peas so I decided on corn.

"Now cook the pasta."

Once the pasta was cooked she told me to add it to the sausage mixture.

Mom then told me to grease the baking dish before putting the pasta and sausage into the baking dish. I had to cook for 25 to 30 minutes after that I had to add the cheese until it was melted.

I was also making a dessert to go with dinner.

Mom also directed me on how to make a Banana-berry pie.

Once the pie crust was cooked I arranged chopped up strawberries over the pie and then poured the gelation mixture over it. After that was refrigerated I poured the mixture I made with sweetened milk, cream cheese, regular milk, and banana pudding mix then refrigerated until we were ready to eat it.

I gave my mom a hug.

"Thank you for helping and letting me cook."

"You're welcome."

I walked into the living room and Davina was sitting on the couch with Thumper sitting beside her.

I tried moving Thumper but he batted at my hand and refused to move.

Davina started laughing.

"And to think I let you sleep on my bed beside me sometimes you furry bastard!" I said.

"Cooper I heard that!" Mom yelled from the kitchen, making Davina laugh even more.

"I'm sorry Mommy!"

"HaHaHa sit by my feet, I want to rub your head anyway," Davina said.

I sat near Davina's feet and she started rubbing my head.

Natalie walked into the living room a few minutes later.

"What smells so good in the kitchen?" She asked.

"I made it! So thank you for saying so and yes you are eating it!" I replied.

"Mom make sure you have our family doctor on speed dial if I'm going to taste Cooper's cooking!"

Davina laughed.

"Relax he is not a bad cook, pretty good one actually," Davina said after she stopped laughing.

"Awww thank you!" I leaned my head back and puckered up my lips.

She leaned down and kissed them.

"Awww so cute I want to vomit!" Natalie said.

"You are just jealous that you don't have anyone to make out with! What's is the name of the guy you have a crush on? Ethan? Carter? Johnny?"
