D***, why did she have to say that?

I sat on the couch, my legs crossed and my arms folded. I didn't used to cross my legs whenever I was upset, but now I couldn't stop. The folded arms however had always been a thing, maybe it was my counterparts. I dunno, but right now I was bit more preoccupied in my thoughts.

"I don't think you're as much of a monster as you play to be."

Why did she make it sound like I was faking all the time? I would genuinely hurt people when I was mad. Only reason I hadn't hurt her this time was because...well.

I frowned, I didn't have the answer as to why I didn't slap her the moment she walked into her house. She'd made me worry sick about her getting hurt. I didn't want Toriel coming after me.

Maybe that was the reason I hadn't hit her, I was restraining myself so Toriel wouldn't haunt my dreams.

Still, I couldn't help but reflect on what she said after that.

"I don't think you even know who you are to the people around you."

Didn't I? I was an annoying roommate to Asriel, a customer who never paid to Grillby, and a nuisance to Toriel. I was surprised any of them hung around me.

"Why are you pouting?"

I glanced over at Asriel. He was leaning over the back of the couch on both hands.

"F*** off, I'm not pouting." I growled in a mumble.

"You're pouting G, don't make me ask why a second time." He told me with an expression that said he was bored. That's probably the only reason he was trying to find out what was bothering me.

"We're monsters." I said as if it were a statement, that's what I'd known my whole life.

"No s*** Sherlock." He said bluntly.
I frowned softly.

"So why doesn't she believe it?" I asked more in a mumble, Asriel groaned.

"You're still off about that girl? You don't even know her name!" He glared at me.
I looked over at him.

"I can't help it, there's something about her...she reminds me of someone I guess." I hummed in thought. Who did she remind me of? It was driving me crazy.

Asriel groaned softly, covering his face with his hands.

"I don't know what you're on about, but I don't think you should keep bothering her, C'mon." He grabbed my collar, walking around the couch and pulling me to my feet.

"Where are we going?"

"To Grillby's, he's better equipped to dealing with stuff like this."

I snorted, he made it sound like I was addicted to this girl, I wasn't really. She just interested me, and Grillby knew just as well as Asriel that I loved a good puzzle.

This puzzle was just giving me a hard time, but of course I wouldn't ask for help even if it was offered.

Asriel would have dragged me all the way to Grillby's if I hadn't teleported to the front. To which he frowned at me.

"You need to walk more." He told me before letting go of my collar. I shrugged before strolling inside.

"Teleporting is faster."

The flaming gentleman was polishing one of his shot glasses when we walked in.

"Grilbs, on fire as usual." I smiled over at him, he was expressionless as we walked over and I sat down while Asriel stayed standing.
"Grillby tell G to stop chasing girls." Asriel said bluntly and Grillby and I both looked over at him.

"It's getting ridiculous!" He frowned at me.

I looked over at Grillby and he looked at me before looking back at Asriel.

"You mean tell him to stop chasing a girl?" His voice crackled like a fire place in the winter air.

"Yeah sure."

"What is her name?" Grillby was talking to me now as he filled a glass with liquor and slid it down the table just as one of his customers finished their drink.

"I dunno, I'm still working on finding out." I shrugged.

"How about this 'what's your name?'" Asriel said while leaning on the counter with one hand on his hip. I shrugged as I leaned back.

"I tried that, she won't tell me."

The goat frowned at me as Grillby stood silent in the background.

"That's usually a tale tell sign that she doesn't want you around." My furry friend told me while folding his arms.

"Asriel, she works at Harrison's of course she's going to come off distant."

"Wait she works at Harrison's?" Asriel asked looking surprised. I didn't blame him, Harrison usually hired more mature women, then again, she was the bartender.

"No, stop it." Asriel then pointed at me, I just smirked. He was gaining an interest in her, this both amused and bothered me. Asriel wasn't generally as pushy as I was, but when he was curious about something he usually didn't leave it alone either.

I didn't like the thought of Asriel bugging the girl, that was my thing.

"You need to leave her alone G." As told me while folding his arms again.

"Oh come on As, she's friends with Toriel and works in a bar." I told him making him frown and look away. He hated when I played that card. But I never understood why they were so distant. Toriel had her kid back, why wasn't she happy about it? Asriel was alive, why wasn't she grateful? Why did they avoid each other?

"Forget about it." He muttered and walked out the door.

I sighed softly before looking over at Grillby.

"Mind getting me a whiskey?" I asked as I leaned my arms on the counter.

He turned to grab a bottle of red condiment before pausing.

"Slip of the hand." I muttered as he handed me a bottle and I opened it with a frown.

"Yes."
