The New Girl (Camren)

Chapter 23

(The jam session)

Camila's POV

I had known the other girls were showing up at six and I could not bare to get to Dinah's house that early. Dinah, aware of what was going on, told me it would be better for me to show up at 6:30 instead. She knows how easily I get nervous and I did not want to blurt out our confession to Normani and Ally like it was no big deal. I needed to think about how we would say this and exactly when.

I hopped out of my mom's car and exhaled loudly before opening the door to Dinah's house, allowing myself in like I usually do. I wave to all of her little siblings running around in circles with more energy than I ever remember having at that age and they wave back. Quietly walking up the stairs, I begin to feel scared about how the girls will react, which I know from past times is normal. 

I hear Chris Brown music blasting from the room as I knock on Dinah's door, not wanting to interupt. Dinah opens it almost immediately after and gives me the biggest hug for support.

"Don't worry, Mila. Everything will be ok," she whispered softly in my ear before I entered the room.

"Hey Camz," Lauren smiled.

"Hey," I tried to reply as normally as possible.

"What's up. How have you been, girl?" Normani asked.

"Pretty good. Where's Ally?" I asked confused as to why she wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"She's in the bathroom. I know you're expecting her to crawl out from under me bed or something. She should be out soon," Dinah gestured for me to take a seat.

We talk about some new songs we have been listening to and joke about all of our annoying teachers for a little while.

The door opens and we all turn to face Ally as she comes out of the bathroom.

"Oh hey,Camila!" she waved before taking a seat next to us.

We practiced a few songs, which included Honeymoon Avenue by Ariana Grande and Adore You by Miley Cyrus. After about an hour, we became extremely tired and decided to take a break, continuing our last conversation. 

Randomly, it got dead silent after a while and I gave Lauren a look, knowing it was finally time to reveal our secret. She nodded quickly so no one would notice and I took a deep breath.

"Ok. I personally, along with Lauren, have wanted to tell you all something for about a month and we are going to tell you, right now," I started, breaking the silence.

"I got it, Camz. Camila and I have been dating for the past month and we are really happy together. We know this must be shocking for you to hear and we hope you will accept us as we are and support us together. We have wanted to tell you, but we needed to feel content with our relationship first. I am happy to say I am falling in love with Camila," she wore the biggest smile on her face.

"Aw," I said quietly before hugging Lauren.

There was more silence for a few seconds as I watched their mouths basically drop to the floor.

"I am so happy for you both. Ya'll are adorable. I ship it and will support you both, definitely," Ally said proudly.

"Thank you," Lauren and I said in unison.

"Sorry for taking a little longer to respond to you both. I am shocked, but in the best way possible. I totally agree with Ally. I support you both and am extremely happy that you trusted me enough to tell me. I know that must have been very hard," Normani confessed.

"You have no idea. Thanks Mani," I smiled.

Lauren nodded as we all got up and hugged each other for awhile. It was already 9:30 and we did not want to disturb any of Dinah's family, knowing some of them were already asleep. We called our rides and waited for them as we sat on Dinah's porch. 

Normani and Ally had already been picked up and Dinah had to shower, so it left Lauren and I alone, which I was not upset about at all.

Lauren's POV

I was finally alone with Camila, but I was on Dinah's front porch. Slightly weird. I needed to explain that I was really falling in love with her because I wanted her to know more than anything.

"You know were alone. Right, Camz?"

"Believe me, I know," she smirked laughing.

"I just want to tell you that what I said before was completely true. I am falling in love with you more and more each day. I love the conversations we have and the little things we do for each other. We know almost everything about each other and we have only been dating for about a month. Everytime I'm not with you, I feel like something is missing. I have never felt this way before. I can't wait to learn more about you in the future. You're the most important person in my life and I feel so happy whenever we text or hangout. I love you," I divulged.

"I love you too, Lauren. So much. That is the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me and I agree with everything that you said. Whenever I'm with you all of my problems go away and you make me the happiest person alive. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a fairytale," Camila spoke softly, pausing briefly after every sentence.

"Aw, that was so cute. You're adorable," I said moving closer to her on the steps.

It was completely dark and our parents would not be getting us for another ten minutes, knowing it would take fifteen minutes or so to get to Dinah's house from where we both lived. Lauren and I lived about 3 minutes away from each other by car.

"I see what you're trying to do," Camila winked.

I tilted my head and leaned in to kiss her confidently. She deepened the kiss before falling backwards so that I would almost be on top of her on the steps. Our tongues fought with each other for awhile as we kissed before I pulled back realizing almost five minutes had passed by.

Camila wiped the sides of her mouth as she smiled at me, I could tell she was blushing. I smiled back and pulled her into a tight hug before I kissed the top of her head softly.

"That was great Jauregui," she winked as she stood up.

"Not too bad yourself, Cabello," I laughed.

Her mom pulled into the driveway, lighting up the front of the house.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Lolo. Love you," she whispered as she opened the car door.

"Love you too," I whispered back.

I sat on the front steps of Dinah's porch, waiting for my mom, who would probably arrive at her house any second. I felt so content. Normani and Ally accepted us and I had the sweetest conversation with Camila,among some other things. I was relieved I didn't have to keep it a secret from my best friends anymore and that I could finally get advice from more than one person.

My mom arrived honking her horn, signaling for me to get inside the car and I did, with the biggest smile on my face. I was the happiest I had been in the longest time.
