“Alright, Snape?” One of the Weasley twins said, disturbing me from my thoughts of nothingness as I stared out across the lake.

Instead of meeting Harry and Ron at Hagrid’s, I’d decided to spend some time alone by the lake. I used to come down here a lot when I was bored when dad was working and Hagrid wasn’t around. Something about the water, rippling in the breeze, calmed my mind and sated my boredom and so here I sat, alone until I was disturbed. “Which one are you?” I asked, shielding my eyes from the mid-afternoon sun as I looked up at Fred or George.

“Fred” came his reply as he plonked himself down beside me and started ripping up blades of grass and tossing them into the water.

“Well, Fred, would you please stop calling me Snape? I do have a name you know.”

“I know” Fred smiled “Lilliana or do you prefer Lilly, or even perhaps Lil?”

I shrugged, turning my focus back to the smooth surface of the lake “whatever takes your fancy, I really don’t care.”

He chuckled quietly to himself for a moment or two before saying “I bumped into Harry and Ron on their way to Hagrid’s; they said that your dad gave you detention.”

“Yeah” I nodded “it would seem that you have to be a Slytherin to be safe from his punishments.”

“You still sure that you don’t have any dirt on him that you want to share?”

“Don’t push your luck, Weasley; I’m not selling my own father out just because he’s annoyed me.”

“Give it time” he sighed happily “my ears will be open when you’re ready to dish the dirt.”

Frowning, I turned to Fred and asked “was there something you actually wanted?”

He shrugged “you found my spot.”

“Don’t see your name written on it” I replied childishly

“I don’t see yours either.”

“Well I never claimed that it was mine!” I huffed in annoyance “Fred, you’re spoiling the serenity so either shut up or go away.”

He fell silent but it only lasted for a few minutes before he looked at me and stated “you’re rather uptight, Snape, did you know that?”

“I give up!” I muttered angrily as I got to my feet “you’re impossible, Fred!” And I stormed off.

Harry and Ron met me in the great hall for dinner and, as Ron began pulling every accessible dish toward him, harry asked “how come you didn’t meet us at Hagrid’s?”

“Well, you missed out on some lovely rock cakes” Ron grimaced.
