Everything was loud, bright and confusing as her eyes opened slowly, squinting as the light hit her eyes. She groaned, causing the blonde who sat next to her to quickly turn around.
"Lizzie?"
She couldn't say anything, could just stare at her wife, see the tears on her face as she grabbed onto Lizzie's hand.
"You're awake."
Lizzie just nodded, her hand squeezing Scarlett's in an attempt to reassure her that she was fine.
"God, you scared the shit out of me."
Lizzie smiles apologetically before she realized someone was missing. Where was Chris? Why wasn't he here?
Scarlett watched Lizzie's heart rate spike on the monitor and quickly squeezed her hand when she realized what was wrong, "He's fine, Chris is fine. He'll be here in a minute, ok?"

"Hey there, lizard." Chris greeted, a dorky smile on his face as he practically ran into the hospital room, Robert following behind him.
"Now that the both of you have scared the shit out of me," Robert looked between Scarlett and Lizzie, "I'm officially done with it. No one else is allowed to do that."
