Abby's POV

Jonah and I have been best friends since I can remember, we've always done everything together. But what he doesn't know is that I like him, as in more than a friend way. I've wanted to tell him, but I don't know how.

I walked to the park where Jonah and I were meeting up to hang out.

"Hey Jo!" I welcomed then hugged him.

"Hey Abby!" he replied and hugged me back. We sat on a bench together and talked for a while.

*a few hours later*

"Bye Jo," I said with a smile.

"Bye Abby, see you tomorrow," he replied. I nodded with a smile then walked off.

When I got home I opened the door quietly and walked in to see my dad staring at me madly.

"Is something wrong?" I asked my dad.

"Is something wrong? Everything is wrong Abby. You fucked up everything!" He shouted at me. I backed up a little bit in fear. My dad has always been abusive when he's drunk, but he's been sober for the past 3 years.

"D-Dad, I don't know what you're talking about," I said, trying not to show my fear. He raised his hand then slapped my cheek hardly. I tumbled backwards a few steps and held my cheek in pain.

He punched my jaw which made me fall to the ground, where he continued hitting and kicking me.

I saw my younger brother, Ky, peek down the stairs and looked at me in fear.

'Go' I mouthed to him. He nodded then ran to his bedroom.

I heard the door open then my dad was lifted off of me. I looked up and saw Jonah pinning my dad to the wall.

"Call the cops Abby," Jonah instructed. I nodded then frantically pulled out my phone. I dialled in '911' then put the phone up to my ear.

"911 what's your emergency?" The operator asked.

"My dad was abusing me," I answered.

"Can I have your address?"

"*random address*," I told her.

"Ok, police are on their way, make sure you stay hidden if you can," she instructed.

"O-ok," I said then hung up. I saw Jonah struggling to keep my dad pinned against the wall. Then he punched my dad and knocked him out.
