For some odd reason this morning had been an exceptionally nice. Riley came early not wanting to rush to school so she could enjoy the beautiful weather, and it was indeed beautiful. We walked hand in hand, as a warm breeze blew through the city. The sounds of cars flying down the street and the strangers talking amongst them selves as the walked filled our ears. As we stride down the street the sight of a small dandelion growing in small patch of dirt next a tree caught my eye.

"Riley wait" I said stoping us in our tracts.

She turned to me slightly cocking her head in confusion. "What? What's wrong?"

I let go her hand and bent down next to the flower plucking it out of the ground. Stood back up facing her as she still held an expression of confusion. "This is for you." I held up the flower.

"Awe Maya!" She gushed. "Your adorable!"

I rolled my eyes laughing. "Yeah, yeah." I lightly tucked the small flower behind her ear. I smiled seeing how beautiful she was. The yellow flower gave an even bigger ray of happiness and innocence.

"I'm gonna wear it the whole day, then keep it for the rest of my life" she beamed as she interlocked our fingers again and continued to walk.

I felt my heart palpitate as the said that. You could hear in her tone how much she actually meant it. The rest of your life is a long time. What if something happened? What if she left? But, just like many other things in the crazy thing we had only time would tell.

Before I knew it we had made it to that horrid school. I held open the door for Riley as she thanked me like usual. Stepping inside I immediately felt my good mood drop straight to the schools multi colored floor. My eyes quickly scanned the crowd of kids making sure the schools stuck up bitches weren't around.

"Maya? Are you alright?" Riley looked at me concerned.

I smiled at her trying to hide how anxious I felt. "I'm good. We should go find your friends."

"Well" she hesitated "if your not you know you can trust me right?"

"Of course" I falsely reassured her.

"And by the way, their not just my friends their your friends to" she eyed me with a smirk.

I followed behind her as she flagged down everyone. We all gathered in our usual spot by the lockers waiting for the bell to ring.

"Hey Maya, Riley" Lucas greeted, with his voice and expression taking interest in the word Riley.

"Hi!" she beamed happily. "How's everyone's morning?"

"I'm exhausted I'll tell you that" Zay exhaled dramatically.

"That's why you shouldn't stay up playing video games so late" Farkle scolded.

"Yeah well, I don't want to go to sleep at eight pm" Zay shot back."

Farkle scrunched up his tiny face. "I go to bed at nine thirty!"

"Or ten if he's feeling risky!" Smakle jumped in.

I laughed "Wow. Your a real rebel aren't you!"

Everyone laughed in return except for Farkle who eyed us all. I couldn't help but feel a little relieved everyone joined min on my laughter. At least that gave me a sign that they liked me. I caught a glimpse of Lucas eyes Riley as she giggled and I couldn't help but feel anger rise a little inside of me. The way he looked at her, you tell he was into her in some sort of way. Everyone chatted as we waited. L I stayed silent on the other hand observing how Lucas would eye Riley from time to time and make slight flirtatious comments at her. Riley seemed to oblivious to it all, there was no way I could me mad at her.
