Riley's POV

"Riley hey wait up!" I turned around to Lucas as I was on my way to my dads class.

"Whats up Lucas?" I smiled.

He caught his breath for a moment before scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "So, I was wondering if Maybe you would wanna go straw berry picking this afternoon? I heard they have the best around here."

I felt the awkwardness begin to hit me to. I didn't know if he meant this as a date, or if this was just a friend thing. Lucas was always pretty friendly to everyone. So why would this be any different? "Oh, sure! Maya could come to! I know her crazy butt would love to go there" I laughed.

Lucas slightly frowned as spoke, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Actually I was thinking Maybe it could be just you and me this time."

Oh no. Maybe this was a date. Felt my self to grow even more awkward. I had no idea what to say. I couldn't say no, he's my friend. I couldn't say yes, he's also my friend. If Maya comes I know he won't try to pull anything. But if he did, Maya would literally rip his head off. "But having more friends makes the adventure even better" I grinned slightly.

"I mean, I guess." You could hear the slight frustration in his voice.

I left bad for it, but at the same time I really didn't like him that way. What els was I supposed to do? "Great then it's settled! Meet you there at four?"

"Well, I actually just got a car!" He chuckled lightly. "Maybe I could pick you up. Maya could meet us there."

"Oh, I mean I guess that could work to." I looked away unable to find anything els to say.

"Walk to class with me?" He smiled.

I nodded lightly and we both headed to class, as I made sure we stayed a good distance apart. As I walked into class I could see Maya instantly glare at Lucas.

Maya's POV

"I hate him" I gritted clenching my fists.

"Yeah well, he just asked me to go straw berry picking with him later today" Riley huffed and rubbed her temples.

"What did you say?" I cocked my head, hoping she didn't say yes to that hick.

"I said yes, but only if you come along."

I groaned leaning back in my seat and let me hands drop to my sides. "I hate him. But, I hate him being alone with even more."

Riley bit her lip. "He wants to drive me to the straw berry fields, and he just wanted it to be him and I."

"What!" I hissed. I looked back at  Lucas glaring at him, receiving an imaginary hat tip from him. I cringed on the inside turning back to Riley.

She quickly spoke in a hushed tone. "Trust me, I'm not fond of it either. Just leave for the straw berry farm up town right after school. I'll give you my buss pass so you can get there. If you leave right after school, I'll stall him a little while so you can get there before us. Please don't be mad!"

"I could never be mad at you. Your to sweet to be mad at. He's just stupid for not being able to pick up hint."

She giggled and I felt my heart skip a beat. "You mean your hints, you angsty child."

I tossed my head back laughing. "Cause your to nice to set him straight!" I quickly changed my light tone into a very serious one. "But god help me if he tries anything he's going to regret it."
