Riley had left he other day after lunch, giving me a tight hug before she skipped out of the locked doors that kept me in this place. They days had gone by slowly without her. I just sat in one of the chairs at a table put my head down to sleep, hoping it would make my stay here go by faster. I had just almost fell back asleep when I heard a woman's voice. "Maya, come with me please." I lifted my head up seeing my therapist standing in the door way. I got up and walked down to her office.
"How are you doing?" she asked.
"Fine." I relied. Not wanting to make small talk.
When we got to her office she closed the door as I sat in one of the chairs. She scanned intently through papers on her desks saying "so I see you've been engaging in the activities here, doing your therapy assignments, even being social too. You seem to talk to one of the other patients here too"
"Riley."
"Yes. With your progress here, you seem to not be in any immediate danger to yourself or others. On your daily work sheets you haven't been feeling suicidal at all for the past few days. Is that true?"
"Yes."
"Well, how do you feel about leaving this evening?"
A rush of excitement ran through out of my body. "Really?"
"Yes, but we would need to find you a temporary place for you to live and someone to pick you up due to your situation with you mom."
"My uncle can pick me up I can stay with him also." I relied.
"Great, I'll call him and let him know. And I'll give you some references for therapists in your area you can go to when you get out."
I knew he would let me stay with him, I just always refused to when he would offer. But I felt bad for her doing all that work looking for therapists when I have no intent on seeing one. "Alright."
She stood up from her chair handing me the references.
"Thanks" I said, shoving the paper in the pocket of my sweet pants.
